Senior Manager, Strategy and Innovation Business Operations
Your Opportunity
Reporting to the Managing Director, Strategic Program Management (SPM), the Senior Manager, Strategy & Innovation Business Operations will be part of Schwab’s broader Strategy & Innovation (S&I) enterprise and will serve as the primary Chief of Staff-style partner to the Managing Director, Strategy & Innovation (dotted line). Strategic Program Management is a central team within S&I that supports the design and delivery of critical Schwab-wide initiatives to enable growth through strong cross-enterprise coordination, executive-level storytelling, and disciplined program execution. The SPM team is primarily focused on supporting our firmwide Scale and Efficiency program as well as Investment Planning Process. In this role, the focus will be split equally between business operations / Chief of Staff support for S&I leadership and select strategic programs and projects led by the Strategic Program Management team.
This role is designed for a highly trusted internal Schwab leader who combines strategic thinking, strong execution, and executive-level communication. While formally an individual contributor, this role operates with Director-level influence and provides a strong platform for increased exposure and impact at Schwab.
Key Responsibilities Include:
S&I Business Operations / Chief of Staff Leadership Support:
- Serve as Chief of Staff-style partner to the Managing Director, Strategy & Innovation, driving clarity, alignment, and execution across the organization
- Facilitate leadership forums including leadership team meetings, offsites, and town halls, including agenda curation, pre-reads, and follow-through
- Set, track, and articulate organizational objectives and OKRs; synthesize progress and results into executive-ready narratives
- Develop and collate content for executive presentations, including, Board updates, regulatory readouts, Top Issue updates, etc. partnering across the organization as needed to ensure quality and consistency
- Support organizational governance and operating rhythms (decision logs, action tracking, documentation, etc.)
- Partner with Corporate Communications on enterprise-specific communication needs and messaging alignment
- Act as liaison with Corporate Real Estate on moves, restacks, workforce needs, and seating requirements
- Lead and coordinate recognition and team building efforts
- Act as approval delegate where appropriate across designated enterprise tools and processes
Strategic Program Management Project Support
- Lead or support strategic projects and programs aligned to Strategy & Innovation and Strategic Program Management priorities, as assigned
- Support cross-enterprise initiatives by coordinating stakeholders, synthesizing inputs, surfacing tradeoffs, and preparing executive-ready recommendations and materials
- Partner with Strategic Program Management peers to ensure consistency of approach, narrative, and delivery across initiatives
What you have
Required Experience:
- Internal Schwab experience with demonstrated strength in strategy, client experience, offer/product management, business operations, or related roles
- Proven ability to distill complex topics into clear, concise executive-level narratives and presentation materials; with emphasis on ability to communicate clearly and simply through slides
- Comfort working with senior executives and familiarity with EC-level forums and expectations
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and organizational skills in a highly matrixed environment
- Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority and operate effectively as an individual contributor
- Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting executive leaders in a Chief of Staff, business operations, or similar role
- Exposure to enterprise-wide initiatives and cross-functional program execution.
- Advanced degree preferred
