We are seeking a Senior Manager of Strategic Planning to join the Strategy Planning & Exploration team within Advisor Services. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across the team’s strategic planning and engagement processes. The ideal candidate will bring structure, organization, and follow-through to a fast-paced, high-visibility environment. This individual will coordinate across multiple stakeholders, manage timelines and deliverables, and ensure the team’s strategic engagements and planning cycles are executed with precision and professionalism.

An effective planning cycle under your stewardship results in clear strategic roadmaps, documented decisions with owners and timelines, and a leadership team that is aligned and informed. This is a mission-critical role that ensures Advisor Services’ long-term strategy is not only well-articulated, but also well-executed.

Key Responsibilities:

· Own the strategic planning calendar and deliverables — ensure every planning milestone (e.g., planning sessions, strategy summits, partner alignment meetings) is executed on schedule and yields high-quality outputs.

· Be accountable for capturing and communicating strategic decisions and follow-ups — maintain live decision logs during strategy discussions and distribute clear post-meeting summaries with decisions made, key insights, risks, and assigned action items.

· Develop and maintain planning templates, timelines, and process documentation to support consistency and efficiency across the team’s work.

· Partner with the Directors of Business Strategy to align strategic forums and leadership engagements with planning milestones and ensure insights from external engagements are integrated into the planning process.

· Coordinate the preparation and delivery of strategic materials for internal and partner meetings, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with enterprise standards.

· Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional partners to facilitate alignment and drive accountability.

· Champion planning best practices and continuous improvement, so that our strategic planning process consistently yields clear direction, cohesive stories, and well-vetted strategic initiatives

What you have

· Bachelor’s degree required

· 5+ years of experience in strategy, client engagement, program management, or related fields.

· Experience working with senior executives and external stakeholders, preferably in financial services or professional services.

· Strong understanding of strategic planning and client experience principles.

· Proven ability to manage programs and drive cross-functional alignment.

Skills:

· Exceptional executive presence, emotional maturity, collaboration, and influencing skills.

· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing complex workflows and timelines.

· Strong project management capabilities with a focus on execution and follow-through.

· Comfortable working with senior leaders and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

· Clear and concise communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Planner).

Other:

· Strong ethical standards and a commitment to compliance and risk management.

· Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

· Alignment with Schwab’s values of respect, diversity, and strategic innovation
