Schwab Asset Management (SAM) delivers investment solutions across mutual funds, ETFs, and separately managed accounts. Within SAM, the SMA Trading and Trade Support team plays a critical role in supporting portfolio management and trading activities while driving operational excellence across complex investment products.

In this role, you will serve as the operational subject matter expert supporting options and short trading strategies across SMA products. You will partner closely with Trading, Portfolio Management, Technology, Risk, Compliance, custodians, and brokers to resolve complex operational challenges, support new product development, and enhance trading support capabilities. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. You will help improve operational processes, support strategic initiatives, influence system enhancements, and provide expertise that enables efficient execution, risk mitigation, and scalable growth of complex investment strategies.

What you have

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• 5+ years of financial services operations experience supporting investment operations, listed options trading, clearing, custody, asset servicing, or related functions.
• Experience supporting option exercises, assignments, expirations, allocations, settlement, reconciliation, and exception resolution.
• Working knowledge of corporate actions and their impact on options and underlying securities.
• Experience maintaining security master and reference data.
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, operational controls, books and records, operational risk, and issue escalation processes.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and time-sensitive events.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience collaborating across Trading, Portfolio Management, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, custodians, and brokers.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting listed equity and ETF options, including multi-leg option strategies.
• Experience serving as a subject matter expert for complex trading products or operational processes.
• Experience participating in product development, system implementations, user acceptance testing, or platform enhancements.
• Experience supporting production issue resolution and process improvement initiatives.
• Experience with VestmarkONE or similar portfolio management, order management, accounting, reconciliation, or asset-servicing platforms.

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
