At Schwab Asset Management (SAM), the Analytics Strategy & Development team supports informed decision-making across the firm by delivering meaningful insights, analytics, and tools. In this individual contributor role, you’ll collaborate closely with partners across Risk, Credit & Performance, Business Intelligence, and Technology to transform complex data into actionable insights.
This role blends strategic partnership with hands-on analytical development. A key focus is enabling the responsible and effective use of GenAI tools to improve efficiency, surface insights, and support better business decisions—while maintaining a strong foundation in analytics best practices.

Strategy & Partnership (Approximately 40%)
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand analytical needs, priorities, and business challenges
- Translate complex investment and analytical concepts into clear, compelling insights and talking points
- Promote best practices for analytics, data visualization, and investment metric storytelling
- Monitor industry trends and emerging tools to inform future analytics capabilities
- Partner with data and technology teams to support execution of the analytics and development roadmap
- Help coordinate GenAI enablement efforts, supporting adoption of tools and workflows in a thoughtful and responsible way
Analytics Development & Enablement (Approximately 60%)
- Design and develop analytical tools for calculation, analysis, and visualization using Python, Tableau, Power BI, and other platforms
- Collaborate on cross-functional analyses to ensure clarity, consistency, and firm-wide alignment
- Improve accessibility and usability of analytics tools for internal users
- Partner with technology, data, and business intelligence teams to support data automation and centralization
- Develop, test, and refine GenAI prompts and use cases to enhance business processes and decision-making
What you have
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in the investment or financial services industry
- Foundational knowledge of investment concepts, with exposure to performance, risk, or portfolio analytics
- Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to work with data to generate insights
- Experience using analytics or visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Programming experience in Python or R, or the ability and willingness to learn
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical concepts clearly
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and build productive working relationships
- Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and openness to learning new tools and approaches, including GenAI
- Sound business judgment with a strong sense of accountability and client focus
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Progress toward or completion of the CFA designation
- Experience working with investment data platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, or Morningstar
- Experience supporting analytics enablement, knowledge sharing, or analytics best-practice adoption
- Familiarity with applying GenAI tools in an analytics or business context
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
