This position requires proactive contact, management, and development of affluent, high revenue-generating active trader client relationships for the primary purposes of retaining existing assets, while also driving cross-sell and asset consolidation opportunities. It also involves fielding complex, time-sensitive inbound phone, chat, and email interactions which will include position management, order support, risk analysis, software expertise, trouble-shooting technology issues, negotiation, and overall market/product education.
A successful Trader PCS Manager will anticipate our clients’ needs and deliver a personalized experience for the firm’s most valuable, active clients to drive retention, loyalty, and advocacy. They will need to deliver this high value across a wide spectrum of client needs and preferences, ranging from buy and hold stock traders to complex derivatives day-traders. Trader PCS Managers will use their expertise to educate clients on risk management and hedging strategies involving multiple products in high-leveraged, high-risk positions.
This role will manage the client relationship as single point of contact coordinating the work of business partners brought in to satisfy the clients’ investing/trading needs including Margin Risk, Stock Lending, Corporate Actions, Fixed Income, Investor Education Group, Retail Brokerage Services.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating strong relationships with our most valuable Trader clients through coaching, education, and expertise formed by years of industry experience
- Empowered to utilize creative solutioning, independent decision making, and excellent judgment in alignment with our objectives of yielding a prestigious client experience.
- Exercise proficiency, awareness, experience, and attention to detail when placing large, high-leverage orders in dynamic, time-sensitive market conditions.
- Serve as a conduit between the client and Charles Schwab’s senior leadership team to streamline information flow regarding market-induced firm risk, client risk, and attrition risk
- Serve as subject matter expert to aspiring Trader associates on both trading concepts and all other segments of financial services
- Deepen knowledge of client’s trading style to best teach and enhance their understanding of complex option strategies and concepts, futures, forex, portfolio margin, and risk
- Leverage proprietary trading tools to provide a personalized platform experience to fit the client’s needs
- Negotiate competitive commissions and margin rates to increase Trader NNA through retention and share of wallet
- Engage high net-worth, high-revenue generating Trader clients to establish and solidify relationships to stem attrition, build retention, and generate high-value referrals
- Leverage Charles Schwab and Trader PCS value proposition to build and deepen client relationships by serving as single point of contact for all client needs
- Proactively identify gaps in client’s overall needs and match them with appropriate Trader and guidance solutions to increase share of wallet through consolidation of outside assets and increased platform adoption
- Mitigate attrition risk by conducting proactive, targeted outbound call campaigns to engage self-directed clients without a current relationship to increase client stickiness
- Communicate professionally and engagingly with clients through verbal and written correspondence, including live chat and email
- Deliver exceptional, responsive service and education to exceed the client’s expectations regardless of subject matter above and beyond trader expertise
- Ability to partner within and across the organization to extend meaningful client value and a superior client experience
- Manage and coordinate work items processed by back office and internal support departments to ensure accurate and prioritized completion of client inquiries

Required Qualifications:
- Series 7, 63/66, 3, and 34 licenses
- Outstanding communication, listening, and problem-solving skills
- Present a positive, professional image with strong track record in providing an exceptional client experience and ownership of each interaction
- Must excel in a team environment
- Proven interpersonal skills in relationship building with focus on superior client service
- Possess an advanced level of expertise of equity trading, complex options, margin risk including portfolio margin and management, Greeks, technical analysis, futures and options on futures, foreign exchange, thinkorswim, thinkorswim web, and mobile trading platforms
- Ability and experience to assess and understand client's financial situation and discuss strategies to assist clients in making portfolio level decisions
- Extensive experience and timely decision-making in dynamic, high-pressure, high-leverage market conditions
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to allow for the accurate and concise explanation and understanding of complex trading and risk scenarios
- Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed
Preferred qualifications:
- Series 9, 10 or equivalent
- 6 years related experience
- History of driving business through identification of new opportunities and focus on client retention
In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
