What you’re good at

Advisor Services Option Desk is a team of institutional trading professionals who differentiate themselves by combining a deep understanding of market mechanics and complex option execution strategies with an innate passion for service. You will aim to mitigate the risk of market impact on large and/or complex option trades, leveraging Schwab’s Request for Quote process, and help educate and support our advisors though our high touch, high value relationship coverage model.

In building relationships with our clients, as an Option Desk Specialist you will:

• Execute equity, ETF and option orders while being conversant in multiple liquidity sourcing methods,  execution strategies, and order routing tools. The role requires the ability to manage large option orders via sophisticated trading platform while providing superior service.
• Cultivate and maintain a strong relationship with our options liquidity providers to ensure our trading management process is through our clients’ eyes.
• Assert control over the entire liquidity sourcing and execution process, beginning with understanding macro- and microeconomic factors impacting the market.
• Establish and reiterate client objectives through active listening and clear communication of special handling instructions.
• Inform and educate advisor clients about all potential liquidity sourcing methods based off the product type and size of an order, leveraging unmatched product and market expertise.
• Proactively maintain communication with advisor using the Option Desk throughout the entire life cycle of the order
• Monitor and manage a variety of daily reports to minimize risk to our advisors and to the firm.

What you have

The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of options trading, including options cash spreads, multi-leg options orders, and FLEX options.

• Possess in-depth knowledge of equity/ETF trading and be confident in using a variety of order management systems including Bloomberg, TraFix, and Tradeweb.
• Ability to manage the heightened risk profile associated with simultaneously handling multiple large options orders
• Ability to cultivate relationships with our Institutional Clients as well as our Sales and Service business partners.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and must exemplify the vision and values of Schwab.
• At least 5 years institutional Equity/Option trading experience. (preferred) 
• Series 7, 63 (required)
• Series 9,10 or 24,4 licenses are preferred (preferred)
