Your Opportunity


This role will serve as the primary director for the newly created Senior Engagement Manager (SEM) team.  The director will focus on creating a coaching and development structure within this group to increase consistency, effectiveness, and scope in the role.  This will be established to drive trader engagement and growth within our high-net-worth self-directed client segment. The Senior Engagement Manager team Director will work with a team of SEM’s and a broad range of business partners to bring Trader engagement to our high net worth branch practice book clients. This role is primarily focused on increasing growth and adoption of our self-directed trading product & platform offering through branch sales channels. Additionally, this role is expected to take a proactive, strategic approach in developing new ways to grow the trader business using our in-market Senior Engagement Managers.

The new Director will be required to work closely with our Regional Trading Consultants and provide a unified Trader front for our Branch network.  They will need to manage travel budgets for SEMs, who will spend 10-25% of their time traveling in the field, meeting with clients and conducting in-branch client seminars.  The individual will be expected to foster a coaching culture with their Sr. Managers, define best practices for the role, establish and maintain a high level of supervision, and promote growth and professional development for those under their leadership.

  • Coach their team, to build future capabilities through targeted performance management and development planning; provide timely feedback and manage both remote and on-site teams effectively.
  • Set clear expectations, hold team members accountable, and empower them with responsibilities that encourage growth and learning.
  • Own hiring initiatives within this group when needed by the business to help satisfy lead adoption and demand.  Create and maintain a pipeline of interest and talent to help sustain department growth.
  • Lead the team to achieve customer satisfaction goals and foster continuous growth in trader knowledge using skills matrices and educational resources, while staying current with industry and market trends.
  • Lead team in demonstrating self-awareness by accepting feedback, pursuing development opportunities, and modeling continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic leadership for projects and programs, including direction, objectives, governance, design concepts, change readiness, and risk/issue/dependency management.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and adapt strategies to ensure the Branch TSR offering remains impactful in growing and retaining trader client business.
  • Anticipate future needs and adjust quickly to maintain an effective growth strategy through evolving trader sales approaches.
  • Drive innovation in scaling the Branch TSR offering and explore alternative solution delivery options.
  • Focus on the Branch Network to deliver superior self-directed trader client experience and increase quality TSR lead flow through strong partnerships with Senior Engagement Managers and Regional Trading Consultants.
  • Communicate critical information on business evolution, results, and recognition effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Address the complexities of geographically dispersed teams by adjusting tactics and strategies as needed.

What you have


Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of Trading Services, Trading Solutions, ESO/TSR opportunities, and organizational roles and responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of Retail Trading department structure and responsibilities.
  • Deep expertise in financial markets, trading products, and the thinkorswim™ suite (mobile, web, desktop), as well as Schwab.com.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Experience leading complex teams across sales, service, and operational models, including remote and multi-location environments.
  • Active and valid FINRA Series 7, 63, 24, 3, or (9/10) with S34 license a plus but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years in financial services and active trading, with a track record of leading high-performing teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
