We are building a next-generation Product Strategy organization to strengthen how the firm designs, delivers, and monetizes products across Schwab’s brokerage, Schwab Bank and Schwab Asset Management. This effort will establish a more integrated and disciplined approach to product strategy, execution, and performance management—enhancing our ability to bring innovative offerings to market, optimize product economics, and scale efficiently across the enterprise. The organization will introduce clearer product ownership, stronger alignment across business units, and more consistent operating processes to accelerate growth, improve client outcomes, and position the firm for long-term competitiveness in an evolving financial landscape

Reporting to the Managing Director (MD), Product Strategy & Operations, this position serves as a senior member of the Product Strategy operating team responsible for driving strategic initiatives, enabling cross-functional alignment, and supporting execution of the firm’s product agenda.
This role partners closely with Product Heads, the Product Strategy PMO, Business Data Management, and enterprise stakeholders (including Schwab Bank and Schwab Asset Management) to ensure strategic priorities are clearly defined, coordinated, and progress effectively.
The Director plays a key role in translating strategic objectives into actionable plans, supporting executive decision-making, and maintaining alignment across a complex, multi-business environment.
Strategic Initiative Leadership
- Support the development and execution of key strategic initiatives across product pillars.
- Partner with Product Heads and leadership to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans.
- Track progress against strategic initiatives and identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities.
- Drive direction: Provide thought leadership and drive effective decision making, prioritization, alignment across the organization.
Product Strategy & Market Insight
- Conduct research and analysis on market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities.
- Support evaluation of new product ideas, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
- Work with Business Data Management to incorporate analytical insights into strategic planning.
Product Operating Model & Process Support
- Support the development and refinement of product strategy operating processes and governance frameworks.
- Help drive consistency in planning, prioritization, and execution across product teams.
- Contribute to improving organizational efficiency and speed to market.
Executive Support & Communications
- Prepare materials for leadership meetings, executive reviews, and strategic discussions.
- Develop clear, structured presentations and updates for senior stakeholders.
- Support communication of product strategy and roadmap priorities across the organization.

What you have
Required Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience in strategy, product management, consulting, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, or fintech ecosystems.
- Experience working on cross-functional initiatives in complex organizations.
- Experience of product strategy, platform strategy, or enterprise transformation initiatives
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting or interacting with senior executive leadership and board level material
- Strong understanding of product economics, including pricing, margin dynamics or funding considerations
- Experience working with data analytics teams or leveraging data to inform strategy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ongoing professional development in leadership, strategy, or data analytics is valued
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred
- Academic or professional focus in business strategy, finance, economics, or technology-related disciplines
- Proven ability to apply structured problem-solving and analytical frameworks in complex environments
