Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

The Digital Rep Solutions organization is seeking a Director of Digital Product Management to lead the Client Central product space, Schwab’s authoritative interface for viewing, creating, and updating brokerage client and account data and a primary platform for client servicing. This people leader will set the multi-year product-line strategy, align portfolio investment and capacity to enterprise priorities, and guide the modernization of Client Central into a secure, accessible, scalable, and AI-ready platform. The role is accountable for product-line outcomes and for building strong Product Management and Product Owner capability across teams. Success requires enterprise influence, disciplined prioritization, close partnership with technology, architecture, risk, and business leaders, and an unwavering focus on better client and representative outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • Own and communicate the multi-year Client Central product-line vision, strategy, roadmap, investment priorities, capacity allocation, and Net New Load roadmap.
  • Establish clear client and representative problems, desired outcomes, success measures, and measurement rhythms that guide portfolio decisions and demonstrate impact.
  • Lead enterprise prioritization and trade-off decisions across a high-demand platform, aligning dependent portfolios on readiness, sequencing, scope, and delivery commitments.
  • Provide executive-level accountability for product-line results, portfolio delivery, platform health, operational resilience, accessibility, and resolution of systemic risks.
  • Guide Client Central modernization, including user experience, architecture, shared services, APIs, access controls, workflow automation, and the capabilities required to support responsible AI and agentic experiences.
  • Partner with engineering and architecture leaders to shape product architecture strategy, evaluate technical options and constraints, and balance feasibility, scalability, risk, and client needs.
  • Govern adoption of agile and lean practices across product teams; institutionalize PI planning, discovery and delivery standards, learning loops, backlog health, and adherence metrics.
  • Build business cases and influence funding decisions by connecting client pain points, market and usage insights, risk, efficiency, and strategic value to product and portfolio choices.
  • Institutionalize user and business flows as maintained product artifacts, and establish standards and accountability for navigation, findability, help content, and product discoverability.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across divisions and enterprise partners, clearly communicating decisions, rationale, progress, risks, dependencies, and required actions.
  • Attract, develop, and retain strong talent; coach leaders and individual contributors, provide meaningful feedback, create stretch opportunities, and use IDPs as a strategic development tool.
  • Create a culture of trust, accountability, constructive challenge, continuous improvement, and responsible use of emerging technologies, including GenAI.
  • Partner with first- and second-line risk, regulators, audit, and control partners to identify, mitigate, monitor, and resolve systemic product and platform risks.

  • Experience defining multi-year product or portfolio strategy, roadmaps, prioritization principles, success metrics, capacity plans, and investment business cases.
  • Proven ability to influence executives and align business, technology, architecture, operations, risk, and other cross-functional partners around shared outcomes and trade-offs.
  • Experience leading product discovery and delivery in an agile environment, including PI planning, OKRs, portfolio governance, dependency management, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to guide product decisions using architecture context, APIs, platform services, security, accessibility, scalability, and operational-risk considerations.
  • Demonstrated people leadership, including recruiting, coaching, performance partnership, succession and development planning, delegation, and building accountable teams.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, facilitation, and executive storytelling skills, including the ability to make complex issues clear and actionable.

  • Experience operating in a regulated financial-services environment and partnering with audit, regulatory, cybersecurity, privacy, accessibility, and risk-management teams.
  • Experience managing demand that exceeds platform capacity and aligning sequencing across constrained dependency platforms.
  • Experience with client and employee research, analytics, journey and process flows, product discoverability, and measurable productivity or experience outcomes.
  • Experience shaping responsible GenAI or agentic-product adoption, including experimentation, controls, monitoring, governance, and integration with enterprise platforms.
  • Knowledge of brokerage servicing workflows, client and account data, move-money or cashiering capabilities, and cross-enterprise service operations.

How success will be demonstrated

  • Client Central has a clear, enterprise-aligned strategy, roadmap, ownership model, capacity plan, and measurable outcomes.
  • Leaders make transparent prioritization and sequencing decisions based on client value, enterprise strategy, readiness, risk, and available capacity.
  • Product teams consistently apply strong discovery, delivery, governance, documentation, measurement, and continuous-improvement practices.
  • Modernization measurably improves representative productivity, client outcomes, platform sustainability, accessibility, security, and readiness for AI-enabled workflows.
