Schwab Private Wealth Services (SPWS) is the premier service and trading arm within Client Service & Support for Schwab’s ultra-high-net-worth clients. SPWS delivers dedicated, white-glove service and partners closely across the enterprise to solve complex needs. Our professionals build loyalty through trusted guidance and seamless execution in a collaborative environment focused on growth and excellence.

The Director, SPWS will lead multiple dedicated teams nationwide that support regional branches and clients. This role owns the end-to-end client and employee experience and partners with key stakeholders to continuously evolve the service model.

The Director will work with cross-enterprise partners to execute upon and continuously improve a comprehensive service model, aligning stakeholder expectations and performance metrics.

Success in this role requires strong conceptual, planning, and organizational skills, along with the ability to align stakeholders to business goals and motivate teams to deliver results.

As a Director in Schwab Private Wealth Services, you will provide leadership, advocacy, people management and general oversight while championing the attainment of business results across the SPWS teams.  With direct leadership of ~7 managers with total oversight of approximately 70 employees this role will be tasked with creating an environment that is worthy of our leaders and professionals very best.

  • Representing Schwab Private Wealth Services to clients, business partners and vendors.

What you have


Required qualifications: 

  • Active FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses
  • Active FINRA Series 8, or Series 9 & 10 licenses
  • Director-level experience leading leaders in financial services, including coaching and developing talent across performance levels
  • Experience leading large client-facing teams (in-person and virtually) and building a collaborative, diverse, high-performing culture
  • Strong business judgment and problem-solving skills with a continuous-improvement mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence, build consensus, and synthesize complex information
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and strong work ethic
  • Commitment to balancing the needs of clients, employees, and stakeholders

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience enabling change and leading major components of transformation initiatives
  • Strong relationship-building and cross-organizational influence skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and implement diverse ideas
  • Experience with staffing, capacity planning, and traffic management
  • Strong conceptual, planning, and organizational skills; ability to establish business goals and motivate teams to achieve results
