Director, Banking Platforms

Banking services are a critical part of the offer, including integrated solutions for retail banking, financial advisors, and clients with complex banking and trust needs.

The Director—Banking Platforms leads Product Owners, Business Systems Analysts, and Senior Managers across scrum teams and vendor partners to deliver enhancements to the Bank Platform.

Key Outcomes:

  • Own the Bank Platform roadmap aligned to Schwab strategy; partner with stakeholders to evolve the platform.
  • Modernize core banking capabilities (deposits, lending, and servicing) and integrate with the broader Schwab ecosystem.
  • Build and develop a high-performing PO/BSA organization; set clear expectations for delivery, platform hygiene, and stability.
  • Define the future-state platform vision and partner with Technology on architecture, standards, and delivery to realize it.
  • Manage enterprise dependencies to improve performance, resiliency, extensibility, and cost to serve.

What you have


IDEAL CANDIDATE

A minimum of 7 years experience in increasingly responsible business and technology leadership roles.

  • Experience leading large, business-critical platform initiatives using agile delivery, change management, and automation—preferably in financial services.

Strategic transformation leadership.

  • Recognized as an enterprise thought partner; makes timely decisions by balancing risk, cost, and client experience. Proven ability to lead senior teams (Sr. Manager/Director level).

Exceptional communication, relationship management, and influencing skills.

  • Manages competing priorities and multiple teams; navigates stakeholder dynamics with strong executive presence and emotional intelligence.

Experienced, inspiring people leader able to attract and develop high-performing, engaged teams.

  • Builds capability through hiring, coaching, and development; provides direct, actionable feedback.

Experience driving transformation, change, and process improvement through people, process, and technology.

  • Applies Agile, Lean, journey mapping, design thinking, and digital automation to simplify and scale operations.

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree is required; advanced degree preferred.
