As a Sr. Manager, Wealth Advisor, you’ll manage ongoing client relationships, deliver holistic financial planning, and provide tailored investment guidance aligned to Schwab’s approach to investing. You’ll collaborate closely with an experienced advisory team to support clients through complex financial decisions while helping them stay focused on long‑term goals.

What you are good at
As aPrivate Client Advisor of SPCIA, you will work as a fiduciary within a dedicated Schwab Private Client team to deliver a disciplined, objective, non-discretionary advisory relationship designed to help our clients reach their financial goals. In this role you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and growing an assigned practice of high-net worth clients with Schwab Branch business partners
- Developing, implementing and ongoing monitoring of Investment Policy Statements that outline investment goals and objectives, preferences and risk tolerance
- Constructing and delivering customized portfolio advice with specific investment recommendations through scheduled and proactive outreach to clients
- Partnering with a team of financial planners, attorneys and CPAs to offer comprehensive solutions
You will provide on-going advice to clients via a phone based relationship with the opportunity to visit your assigned market and clients. SPCIA’s advice philosophy will enable you to leverage a vast array of products (i.e. stocks, bonds, ETF’s, mutual funds, separately managed accounts, option trading) as you help clients manage larger and more complex portfolios and wealth planning needs. This unique and rewarding opportunity will provide both you and your clients the ability to build goal oriented portfolios and nurture long-term relationships.

Required Qualifications
- Client Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead complex client relationships by diagnosing needs through advanced discovery, navigating sensitive conversations with diplomacy, and influencing decisions by translating sophisticated planning and investment concepts into clear, tailored guidance that drives action and deepens trust.
- Time Management: Ability to set an operating cadence for a book of business—prioritizing high-impact activities, coordinating across partners, and proactively communicating tradeoffs, timelines, and next steps—while ensuring service consistency and follow-through on complex, multi-workstream client needs.
- Financial Planning: Proven ability to develop and communicate holistic financial plans for high-complexity scenarios (e.g., concentrated positions, tax-aware strategies, multi-goal planning), synthesizing inputs into recommendations that align portfolios to client objectives, risk profile, and long-term outcomes.
- Coachability: Demonstrates a senior learning mindset by seeking input from peers and leaders, integrating feedback into measurable behavior changes, and sharing best practices—coaching others informally to raise advisory quality and client experience.
- Self-Awareness: Exercises sound judgment and risk awareness—recognizing when situations exceed scope or require additional expertise, surfacing concerns early, and escalating with clear context and options to protect the client experience and meet fiduciary and regulatory expectations.
Additional Requirements
- CFP® designation or CFA® designation
- Bachelor’s degree
- Active FINRA Series 7 license
- May be obtained with a 120-day condition of employment
- Active FINRA Series 66 license (or equivalent)
- May be obtained within the first 120 days
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
