Managing Director, New Product Governance and Operations

The Managing Director, New Product Governance and Operations will lead enterprise product governance across Wealth Advisory and Schwab Investment Platforms, Solutions & Strategy (“SIPSS”), establishing M&A governance, maturing and expanding the Product Review Council (“PRC”) mandate, and accelerating new product delivery.

Key Outcomes:

  • Lead enterprise product governance for CS&Co distribution to advance the SIPSS mission of expanding Schwab’s product shelf to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
  • Streamline the PRC process through risk assessment, committee pathways, and cross-enterprise coordination.
  • Expand and mature the Product Review Committee (PRC) mandate, using it as the primary engine to improve governance discipline and accelerate speed-to-market for new products.
  • Design, facilitate, and evolve governance forums, including established committees and purpose-built forums that address emerging risks, coordination gaps, and operating model maturity.
  • Partner with second-line risk and compliance to sustain the regulatory effectiveness of the new product process while incorporating business needs and delivery velocity and represent product governance in regulatory engagement.
  • Facilitate key risk committees, including WABT and SIPSS, with ownership of agenda design, risk profile reporting, escalations, and leadership development for direct reports.
  • Advance enterprise alignment through the SWAI Management Committee and annual Wealth Risk Summit, coordinating Legal, Compliance, and business priorities across critical initiatives.Build, lead, and develop a high-performing governance organization, growing distributed leadership and developing direct reports through direct, balanced, and actionable feedback.

What you have


Key Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years in progressively senior leadership roles within a financial services organization of comparable scale and complexity, with relevant experience in risk, client experience or product governance.
  • Proven change leader with strong operational discipline and a track record of improving governance, process effectiveness, and cross-enterprise execution.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and decision-making skills, with sound judgment across risk, expense, client experience, and business growth tradeoffs.
  • Executive presence, influence, and relationship management skills to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics and drive alignment across senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing multiple priorities, leading diverse teams, and developing talent through direct, balanced, and actionable feedback.
  • Ability to build followership and trust across diverse teams and stakeholders by setting clear direction, modeling accountability, and creating shared commitment to outcomes.
  • Confidence and courage to make business and talent decisions, champion new ideas, and encourage constructive dissent when appropriate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.Undergraduate degree required.
