What you have
Core Responsibilities:
- Operate, improve, and scale database activity monitoring, database access governance, DLP, encryption, and related data protection controlsacross onprem and cloud environments
- Design and implement automation for DLP, database monitoring, encryption, and service account workflows to reduce manual effort and control friction
- Expand database monitoring coverage anddemonstratemeasurable risk reduction at scale using consistent metrics and operational telemetry
- Mature service account monitoring, ownership, and inventory accuracy, including integration with PAM and centralized governance processes
- Drive centralization of database access and support the elimination of legacy local entitlements in favor of standardized access models
- Develop andmaintainsustainable SOPs, metrics, and documentation to support SOX, PCI, FFIEC, and internal audit requirements
- Support audits and regulatory reviews by producingaccurate, repeatable, audit ready evidence across data protection controls
- Act as a technical SME across IAM Engineering, Infrastructure & Operations, PAM, SIEM/SOAR, and application teams, helping align tooling, controls, and operational expectations
- Serve as a subject matter expert and informal leader, sharing knowledge and coaching others
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field
- 4+ years of cybersecurity experience, with hands on responsibility for data protection, identity, or database security controls
- Proven experienceoperatingand improving security controls in complex, production environments
- Strong understanding of database activity monitoring, database access governance, DLP, encryption, and data classification concepts
- Experience working with Active Directory, authentication, and identity related integrations
- Familiarity with ITIL Change Management practices and production change processes
- Strong analytical skills with the ability toidentifycontrol gaps, design improvements, and implement solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical andnon technicalstakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes through collaboration rather than authority
- Strong organizational skills and ability tomaintaindetailed, living documentation
- Proven ability to automate manual processes through scripting or other automation approaches
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., CISSP or equivalent)
- Experience supporting SOX, PCI, FFIEC, or internal audit control domains
- Hands onexperience with database monitoring, DLP, encryption, PAM, or SIEM/SOAR integrations
- Experience improving service account governance and inventory accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization
- Research oriented mindset with a structured, analytical approach
