This position will be part of the Business Process Management Technology Team at Schwab and focuses on driving client-centricity, reducing time to market & increasing efficiency. The model is insights-driven and focuses on rapid iterations to drive innovation and transformation. As part of the MyQ team, you will be leading AI initiatives enabling automation for Schwab's Operation Teams allowing better client experiences and providing efficiencies for the business. This position is ideal for engineers with a solid software and AI foundation who are curious, adaptable, and eager to deepen their expertise at the intersection of software engineering and AI.

•           Lead AI DLC practices by establishing governance, standards, and repeatable lifecycle processes that enable responsible, scalable, and                         efficient AI adoption across the organization.
•           Serve as the organization's AI Champion, guiding individuals and teams through AI adoption by implementing an AI DLC lifecycle,                                 consolidating AI tools into a unified repository, and providing technical support across the organization.
•           Experience in Camunda, Spring Boot, and React, with n8n integrated directly into the platform for AI workflow automation.
•           Implementation in BDD testing using Selenium WebDriver/Cucumber.
•           Experience building ML models and serving them via a Flask API.
•           Design, build, test, and maintain software applications across the full stack under the guidance of senior engineers.
•           Use GenAI tools (for example, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate coding, debugging, and documentation.
•           Take full ownership of all code changes, including those generated with AI tools.
•           Review, test, and thoroughly understand every change before it is merged and released to production.
•           Apply spec-driven development practices to translate requirements into structured, AI-ready specifications.
•           Contribute to AI agent development by helping define agent goals, tool use, and simple task flows under the guidance of senior engineers.
•           Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and maintainability.
•           Apply judgment to accept, modify, or reject AI suggestions based on context and team standards.

Testing and Quality
•           Generate and improve unit, integration, and regression tests using AI-assisted tools.
•           Ensure test coverage meets team standards before code is merged.
•           Identify and address security, performance, and reliability concerns early in the development cycle.

Modernization
•           Assist in refactoring and modernizing existing codebases using AI-assisted workflows to improve readability, maintainability, and performance.
•           Help identify technical debt and contribute to AI-accelerated remediation efforts under senior guidance.
•           Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to learn and contribute to technical direction and quality standards.
•           Help maintain custom instructions and prompt engineering guidelines that support consistent, effective AI-assisted development across the                   team.
•           Participate in technical governance and help facilitate overall product quality standards with development and business teams
•           Lead, mentor, and coach teams to drive successful execution and implementation of high-impact initiatives.
•           Liaise with product teams, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to integrate project plans, testing schedules, and metrics reporting
•           Ensure all risks and issues are documented, managed and appropriate action taken.
•           Think creatively and generate innovative solutions
•           Lead and inspire teams through complex and often changing circumstances
•           Deep understanding of exploratory testing practices

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Computer Science
• Practice in BDD, TDD, API Design, Pega, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Flas
• Experience in TensorFlow, scikit-learn, pandas, Machine Learning, AI DLC Lifecycle, n8n
• 5+ years of AI Software Engineering experience
• Strong Experience in collaborating with the Business Partners, Technology Partners at various levels to execute the program level test strategy as per the organization objectives.
• Experience with Git, Bitbucket, Splunk, Postman tools
• Practical experience with prompt engineering and authoring custom instructions to improve AI-assisted development outcomes.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, Spring Boot, React, Camunda
• Ability to critically review AI-generated code for bugs, security issues, and code quality.
• Strong understanding of Not In Good Order (NIGO) processing — identifying cases that fail validation or are missing required information, and managing them through correction and resolution before fulfillment.
• Experience with case segmentation and prioritization: classifying work items by business attributes such as process type, line of business, segment, NIGO type, and priority to drive routing, SLA timers, and queue urgency.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and Lean DevOps AIDLC methodologies.
• Financial/Trading services industry experience is a plus.
