Become a member of the Capacity Enablement and Technology Business Management team in Schwab Technology Services as a Sr Manager, Software Development & Engineering Senior. The Senior Technology Business Management Analyst is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of Technology Business Management capabilities that improve cost transparency, financial accountability, and strategic decision-making across the organization. This role drives the development of advanced costing methodologies, AI-related cost transparency capabilities, and customized technology cost management processes that meet the needs of diverse stakeholder groups. The position serves as a key leader for TBM 2.0 implementation efforts, partnering with Finance, Technology, Business, and TBMO teams to expand adoption, strengthen governance practices, and ensure the TBM platform and operating model continue to evolve in support of organizational objectives.

Responsibilites:

  • Lead the implementation, governance, and ongoing enhancement of TBM 2.0 capabilities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
  • Design, maintain, and evolve technology costing methodologies, allocation models, and financial transparency frameworks that support informed business decision-making.
  • Develop and implement AI cost transparency and reporting capabilities, enabling stakeholders to better understand, manage, and optimize AI-related technology investments.
  • Partner with Finance, Technology, Business, and TBMO stakeholders to define, prioritize, and deliver technology cost management solutions that address evolving organizational needs.
  • Drive adoption of TBM principles, processes, and tools through stakeholder engagement, education, and change management activities.
  • Customize and enhance TBM processes, reporting structures, and governance models to support multiple stakeholder groups while maintaining consistency and operational discipline.
  • Establish and monitor governance practices, performance metrics, and operational controls to ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and process effectiveness.
  • Translate complex technology and financial data into actionable insights and executive-level reporting that supports strategic planning and decision-making.

  • System Design and Architecture — Implementing concepts for system design, ensuring compatibility with cloud architectures, and utilizing adaptive approaches for lifecycle models and methodologies.
  • Written Communication — Expressing oneself clearly in business writing.

Required Qualifications: 

  • 4+ years of experience in Technology Business Management, IT Financial Management, Technology Finance, FP&A, Management Consulting, Technology Strategy, or related disciplines.
  • Experience developing and managing technology cost allocation methodologies, financial models, budgeting processes, or chargeback/showback frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial, operational, and technology data and translate findings into actionable business insights.
  • Experience defining, documenting, and improving business processes, governance frameworks, and operational controls.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience preparing executive-level reporting and facilitating strategic discussions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and drive complex initiatives from concept through implementation.
  • Knowledge of technology cost structures, investment management practices, and financial planning processes within a large enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience leading or supporting Technology Business Management implementations, transformations, or operating model modernization initiatives.
  • Knowledge of TBM Council standards, Technology Cost Transparency, IT Financial Management, FinOps, or related industry frameworks.
  • Experience with ApptioOne, Cost Transparency, Planning applications, Cloudability, or comparable TBM platforms.
  • Experience designing cost models for emerging technology domains, including cloud services, AI platforms, data platforms, and shared technology services.
  • Familiarity with AI cost transparency, consumption tracking, technology investment optimization, and value realization frameworks.
