The Office of the CIO (OCIO) provides standardization and optimization of core Schwab Technology Services (STS) business processes, enabling a consistent, strategic approach. The STS Workforce Operations Team plays a critical role within OCIO - providing technology leaders with workforce reporting for informed decision making, standardization and execution of essential initiatives across the STS organization and facilitate workforce planning. Our vision is to provide transparency, easily accessible data, and make it easier to work in & with STS.

The STS Workforce Operations team is seeking a Sr. Manager, IT Program Management (PL) who can motivate, inspire, and develop a diverse team responsible for performing and executing on our organization’s purpose and mission. In this role, you will manage a multi-facet team that provides many services including workforce reporting, managing firm wide programs such as HWF, and facilitating workforce planning across STS. In addition to a background in program management, the ideal candidate should possess experience effectively managing people at different stages in their career and professional development.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing large-scale, complex programs within enterprise environments
  • 7+ years of People Management experience, including management of technical resources
  • Proven experience developing enterprise workforce strategies and talent strategies for both domestic and global software development organizations
  • Have led or supported talent development programs
  • Past participation in a People Leadership Development program
  • Experience on a technology communications team in developing effective enterprise and organizational communications plans and communications reflecting change management experience
  • Deep experience partnering with business units supporting workforce strategies such as Talent Acquisition and Corporate Real Estate, including an understanding of their policies and best practices
  • Demonstrable ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key partners and excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Proven track record of shaping strategy and leading with influence
  • Successful history of building and cultivating strong authentic relationships with internal/external business partners
  • Ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict and deliver tough messages with grace
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally, including experience in change management
  • Strong Excel and PPT experience, including reviewing, manipulating, and presenting data
  • Exceptional story-telling skills – the ability to package and present analyses effectively, communicating an insight to be understood easily and to drive action
  • Effective time management, must be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively
  • Education: BS/BA degree required

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP Certification
  • Workforce reporting experience
  • Excellent presentation and reporting skills to executive level audiences
  • Experience with success measures, metrics, and KPI’s
  • Experience in a highly regulated financial services environment
  • Experience and working knowledge of Agile Development Practices, iterative development and methodologies in multi-functional organizations
