At Schwab, the Cloud Services organization within Schwab Technology Services (STS) empowers Schwab’s development teams with an easy to use, self-service catalog of operationalized, secure cloud products meeting Schwab’s regulatory requirements that exceed Client expectations.   The organization’s mission is to operationalize Schwab’s cloud capabilities to enable the scalable and secure migration of Enterprise applications to our multi-cloud infrastructure.

As the Senior Manager, Cloud Engineering (Lead) PL, you will oversee a Cloud Enablement team within Cloud Services. Your leadership will be crucial in streamlining application onboarding, enhancing client experiences in public cloud environments, and accelerating time-to-market for our growing catalog of cloud services and platforms.


In this role, you will collaborate with leading technologists and subject matter experts across Cloud Architecture, Cloud Security, Cloud Tools and Operations, and Cloud Engineering. Through your energy, focus, and innovative mindset, you will help drive our mission to deliver meaningful value by embracing challenges from the perspective of our clients.

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
•    5+ years of experience in a leadership role supporting Cloud Engineering, Operations, or Enablement teams.
•    5+ years of experience contributing to Agile Release Management teams.
•    5+ years of hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud Architecture, or Application Development within a multi-cloud environment.
•    Strong servant leadership abilities and the capacity to articulate solutions and strategies tailored to executive, management, and technical audiences.
•    Demonstrated empathy for client needs and perspectives.
•    Proven technical proficiency in cloud architectures, tools, and environments, with an emphasis on security, availability, and resiliency.
•    Resourcefulness in tackling challenges and collaborating across organizational boundaries.
•    Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Comprehensive understanding of functional operations and the impact of cross-functional interdependencies on achieving goals.
•    Direct leadership experience with individual contributors, including training, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and professional development.
•    Effective talent management skills in recruiting, hiring, developing, and retaining team members, with a commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives.
•    Ability to make independent decisions regarding methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve desired results.
•    Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining team-level strategies and objectives, as well as contributing to organization-wide strategic goals.
•    Experience with ITIL operational processes, ensuring high availability and service continuity across technology platforms.
•    Direct experience working in Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud Architecture, or Application Development within a multi-cloud environment. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services is a plus.
