Schwab’s Advisor Services Data Delivery Team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to help build, enhance, test, deploy, and support cloud-based applications that enable critical, high-volume processing for Schwab’s Advisor clients and third parties. In this role, you’ll apply your software development skills to solve complex problems, contribute to reliable data delivery solutions, and support applications throughout the software development lifecycle. You’ll work closely with engineers, architects, and product owners in an agile environment where collaboration, adaptability, and thoughtful decision-making are key to delivering meaningful outcomes for clients and the business.

What you have

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience developing applications using Java
• Experience with Spring frameworks, including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Data Flow, or related technologies
• Experience working with relational databases, SQL, and stored procedures
• Experience writing unit tests with strong code coverage
• Understanding of Agile development practices and the software development lifecycle
• Experience with CI/CD practices
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies, apply sound judgment, and drive work to completion
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or TypeScript
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C++ or C#
• Experience using Jira or other agile work tracking systems
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform products, including Dataflow, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Composer, or Terraform scripting
• Experience with ETL, data validation, and end-to-end testing, including functional, integration, performance, and security testing
• Experience applying AI prompting to support software engineering problem-solving
• Financial industry experience
