As a Senior Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer focused on AWS and Azure, you’ll play a critical role in protecting the platforms that support Schwab’s client‑centric technology ecosystem. You’ll design, build, and evolve cloud security capabilities that safeguard modern workloads while enabling innovation at scale. Working closely with engineers, infrastructure teams, and security partners, you’ll translate complex risks into practical solutions that balance protection, performance, and business outcomes.

What You’ll Do
- Engineer, implement, and monitor security controls that protect AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure and integrations
- Design and mature cloud security architectures that scale with platform growth and business demand
- Embed security into infrastructure‑as‑code and CI/CD pipelines through automation and policy‑as‑code
- Partner with application, platform, and operations teams to deliver secure, resilient cloud solutions
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement emerging security technologies that strengthen cloud posture
- Translate security and technical requirements into clear risk insights for technical and business stakeholders
- Contribute to cloud security standards, patterns, and best practices across multi‑cloud environments
- Develop automation and metrics that improve visibility, effectiveness, and operational maturity
What you have
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 1–5 years of experience implementing or managing security controls in AWS and/or Azure environments
- Ability to design and apply cloud security controls that reduce risk while enabling delivery
- Experience securing cloud infrastructure using native and third‑party security tools
- Ability to communicate security concepts clearly and influence partners across engineering and operations
- Experience working in regulated environments where security, compliance, and resiliency are critical
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience securing workloads across multiple cloud platforms, including GCP
- Hands‑on experience with cloud security tools such as Wiz, Prisma, Cortex Cloud, Orca Security, or Zscaler
- Experience using infrastructure‑as‑code and automation tools such as Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, Crossplane, Ansible, or Pulumi
- Experience embedding security into DevSecOps pipelines using tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of cloud and hybrid security architecture patterns
- Professional cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, or cloud security certifications
- Strong curiosity and commitment to staying current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security practices
