Schwab Technology Services (STS) is investing in the integration of AI capabilities across the Software Development Life Cycle, and this role offers a unique opportunity to be part of that transformation from the outset. As a member of this team, you will help shape how AI is adopted and scaled across our enterprise development community, influencing modern engineering practices at a meaningful scale. You'll work at the intersection of developer experience, platform engineering, and applied AI, driving measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and engineering standards across the organization. This is a highly visible role ideal for someone who had the product mindset that can translate enterprise AI strategy into clear priorities, actionable backlogs, and measurable outcomes for engineering teams. The ideal candidate will combine strong Agile product ownership skills with technical fluency in software development and AI assisted engineering tools, while bringing collaboration, transparency, and adaptability needed to align stakeholders and scale adoption across the enterprise.
What you have
To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required:
5-10 years of experience leading development of products and systems in a large, complex enterprise environment.
Translate needs and business imperatives from product vision and roadmaps for use in setting priorities and guiding the work of the Scrum team(s).
Ability to prioritize competing demands effectively and communicate tradeoffs, decisions, and progress clearly to key stakeholders.
Ability to define success metrics, adoption goals, value measurement, and product KPIs.
Be a great listener: Understand the value of listening to the development community needs and can understand the deeper underlying problem that needs to be addressed.
Attitude of transparency: Desire and ability to bring disclosure and transparency to the Scrum team and grow trust between the business and development.
Conflict resolution: Able to facilitate discussion of issues and different approaches and alternatives and effectively resolve issues in a timely manner.
A thorough understanding and appreciation for Agile values and principles.
Thorough understanding of and proven ability to:
Write user stories and acceptance criteria
Split large stories into smaller stories
Refine, prioritize, and maintain the backlog
Conduct Release planning
Conduct Sprint planning
Navigate the Sprint review activities
Serve as key testing partner
Strong grasp of software development and technology.
Desired:
Scrum Product Owner or Scrum Product Manager certification
Prior experience using Jira and Rally
Knowledge of AI-assisted developer tools such as GitHub Copilot, Copilot Chat, Claude Code, Cursor, Amazon Q Developer, or similar
Technical fluency in software development, SDLC, DevOps, and engineering platforms
Comfort working in ambiguity and helping teams move from experimentation to scalable enterprise adoption
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
