The Retail Web Technology (RWT) organization leads the development and maintenance of Schwab's premier digital platform for retail clients - individual investors just like you.
Our organization is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with demonstrated expertise in addressing complex technical challenges and developing interactive web applications utilizing modern technologies. As a Manager, Software Development & Engineering, you will need to be a technical domain expert on your applications. This role is all about getting the job done, so you work with your team to develop solid engineering solution to solve complex business problems. You prioritize helping your junior teammates and you ask for help when needed. What you have
To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
· An exacting attention to detail and the talent and enthusiasm for producing highly usable and scalable web software solutions using advanced development technologies
· Proven technical and business communication skills at various organizational levels
· Confidence solving problems in a dynamic customer-focused team environment that uses the newest technologies and techniques
· A commitment to regularly improving your technical and professional skills, learning emerging technologies and growing as valued team member
· BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
· 6+ years of full-stack web development experience, with an emphasis on front-end development
· Strong skills using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
· Confidence with Angular, StencilJS, TypeScript, and client side MV* frameworks
· Working knowledge using C#/.NET Core development
· Responsive Design and Single Page Applications (SPA) expertise
· Knowledge of authorization frameworks (e.g., OAuth 2, SAML, JWT)
· Familiarity with unit testing patterns (TDD/BDD), accessibility and methodologies
· Application performance evaluation and tuning skills
· Web Accessibility experience
· Proficiency in creating and consuming RESTful services
· Understanding of Agile software development principles, including experience participating in a Scrum-based delivery team
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
