Schwab Technology Services enables the future of how clients manage their money by providing innovative and

reliable technology products and services as part of our ongoing commitment to democratize access to investing and

financial planning.

You will collaborate closely with technical leads and Product Owners to implement new features, enhancements, and

solutions for the Portfolio Accounting Technology services team. This team is responsible for the systems and

platforms that provide critical risk monitoring for Schwab and its clients including Margins, Futures, Options, Pledged

Asset Line, Violations and more to a range of teams and user-facing applications such as Schwab.com and mobile

platforms. As a key contributor, you will help uphold and extend the excellence of Schwab’s core digital platforms,

delivering valuable data and information to Schwab’s clients and advisors. Schwab is committed to advancing digital

service and excellence, and these teams play a pivotal role in developing and delivering industry-leading capabilities.

This opportunity will be part of a larger group called Cross Enterprise Services (CES) which is focused on delivering

consistent, enterprise quality and highly performant shared services for all of Schwab’s systems as building blocks for

outstanding end-user experiences. CES offers a wide range of technology opportunities for great people to grow and

demonstrate their skills.

• Deliver software products through the development pipeline to QA and production

• Coordinate with product owners, project managers, and stakeholders

• Provide development estimates with scrum master and product owner

• Break down stories, design features, and prioritize tasks with team

• Use automated test tools and frameworks to ensure quality

• Support system integration and release management efforts

• Identify and mitigate technology risks early

• Prototype and validate application solutions for business needs

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Engineering or related field

• 7+ years' software development experience

• Proven team leadership and agile development skills

• Translate business requirements into technical stories

• Apply coding standards and deliver on critical timelines

• Strong communicator with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Leadership

• Deep understanding of agile methodologies and processes

• Experience with .NET, .NET Core, C#, GitHub, Spring, Hibernate, UML

• Familiar with Kafka, GCP, PCF, NoSQL (Aerospike, MongoDB, Cassandra)

• Expertise in object-oriented analysis, SOA, design patterns, implementation, and maintenance

• Skilled in server-side Microsoft technologies (Visual Studio, C#)

• Proficient in REST/SOAP Web Service API development for transaction processing

• Experience with multi-tier applications, WMI, NoSQL, SQL preferred

• Self-motivated, creative problem-solver

• Knowledge of current architecture and development standards

• Manages own work to meet schedules and deliverables

• Strong analytical and solution-implementation abilities

• Excellent verbal/written communication for technical/non-technical audiences

• Effective at handling multiple priorities in a dynamic, dispersed setting

Preferred Qualifications

Skilled with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo) ▪ Proficient background in Financial Services

▪ Experienced with SQL databases (SQL Server and PostgreSQL) and no-SQL databases

▪ Conducts deep analysis to inform decisions and support stakeholders

▪ Aligns work with business goals and analyzes market dynamics

▪ Identifies process improvements and implements creative solutions

▪ Influences team quality, effectiveness, and builds credibility

▪ Presents ideas clearly and persuasively

▪ Chooses methods to achieve ambitious goals and measure results

▪ Applies expertise to optimize performance and deliver high-quality work, and writes concide, structured, engaging business documents

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
