The Retirement Plan Services Technology group builds and maintains the applications and platforms supporting Schwab’s retirement plan business, one of the leading providers of retirement plan services for medium to large-sized companies in the U.S. Our teams deliver high-quality solutions which enable employees of the companies we serve to create secure financial futures. This role operates at both a strategic and tactical level to enable effective Agile delivery across engineering teams in Schwab Retirement Technology (SRT) group. The role supports crossteam Agile processes, strengthens Agile development and engineering practices, and plays a key role in the organization’s adoption and effective use of Rally as part of scaled Agile execution.

The role partners closely with engineering teams, Product Owners, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and other Scrum Masters to improve flow, increase transparency, manage dependencies, and mature Agile ways of working across teams.

In this role you will:

Enable Agile Delivery Across Teams
Facilitate and support Agile and Scrum practices across one or more engineering teams, including planning, execution, and continuous improvement, while removing impediments and promoting predictable, high‑quality delivery. 

Support Cross‑Team Coordination and Scaled Agile Execution

Enable cross‑team alignment by supporting dependency management, Scrum of Scrums / ART Syncs, and PI‑level planning and execution in partnership with other Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Release Train Engineers. 

Drive Adoption and Effective Use of Rally

Support teams in adopting and effectively using Rally for Agile planning, tracking, and visibility, including sprint setup, PI planning preparation, dependency tracking, and use of metrics to inspect and improve flow.

 To ensure that we fulfill our promise of " challenging the status quo " this role has specific qualifications that successful should have.

 Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical or business discipline, or equivalent at least5 years of experience supporting Agile software development teams
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Agile delivery for software engineering teams, including facilitation of Scrum ceremonies and application of Agile principles and practices in a team or multiteam environment 
  • Working knowledge of enterprise Agile planning and tracking tools, particularly Rally, with experience supporting sprint planning, PI planning preparation, dependency tracking, and progress visibility across teams.
  • Experience operating in a scaled or crossteam Agile environment, including coordination with Product Owners, other Scrum Masters, and Release Train Engineers to support alignment, flow, and delivery execution 
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum frameworks, including concepts such as iterative development, continuous improvement, and servant leadership

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting scaled Agile delivery (e.g., ART‑level coordination, Scrum of Scrums, PI planning and execution) across multiple engineering teams.
  • Hands‑on experience with Rally beyond basic usage, including capacity planning, dependency management, metrics, dashboards, and PI‑level reporting.
  • Experience coaching teams, Product Owners, or leaders through Agile transformation or tooling adoption, including reinforcing consistent Agile practices and improving delivery maturity.
  • Familiarity with SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks, including collaboration with Release Train Engineers and participation in PI‑level events [Scrum Mast...Wayfinder | PowerPoint]
  • Agile or Scrum certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent)
  • Prior 5-10 years of experience working closely with software engineering teams, with an understanding of development workflows, delivery dependencies, and engineering constraints
