The Manager position is an individual contributor role within our Analytics, Strategy, Detection, & Solutions (ASDS) team, part of the Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) organization. The team handles the firm’s analytical efforts around AML Surveillance, data solutions, projects for the FCRM program, and defining the next generation of surveillance tools. This team works closely with teams focused on modeling, model risk, anti-money laundering, enhanced due diligence, compliance, technology, and other areas to ensure a robust, well-coordinated approach to tackling financial crimes.
The Manager will work closely with business partners to identify risks and target illicit behaviors. This position will be responsible for analyzing data and providing recommendations to business partners to support effective and efficient management of AML scenarios and monitoring. This position requires a candidate with strong analytical, technical, and communication skills as well as someone who is highly reciprocal with a high level of attention to detail.
What you are good at -
Identifying, extracting, cleaning, aggregating, and analyzing data found in disparate data systems using SQL & Python
Able to critically evaluate and enhance existing AML scenarios to ensure they are functioning as designed, targeting appropriate risk behaviors, and generating effective, high‑quality alerts for review
Ability to create new rules and scenarios for AML transaction monitoring and other systems
Ability to analyze and quantify the impact of scenario changes, employing sound analytical methodologies to assess changes in alert volumes, risk coverage, efficiency, and downstream AML outputs
Building effective presentations and communicating analysis approach, methodologies, summary of findings, and recommendations to business partners
Designing and maintaining key performance indicator reporting and evaluate data to ensure scenario performance is as planned and recommend/take vital action(s) with findings
Understanding AML concepts, red flags, emerging risks, and analytical methodologies used to target money laundering and related illicit activity
Collaborating effectively with team members and business partners to deliver high‑quality, scalable analytical solutions that strengthen the firm’s financial crime risk management program
What you have
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, or related quantitative field
3+ years of Data Analytics and/or Business Intelligence experience including developing advanced SQL and Python queries, gathering data from disparate systems such as Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, and/or other databases
2+ years of experience with bank, brokerage, or financial services Financial Crime experience (ACAMS or ACFCS Certification is a plus)
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office products
Strong analytical with intermediate proficiency in analytical tools leveraging SQL and Python
Knowledge of statistical techniques, optimization methods, and the application of models to solve complex business problems
Experience developing effective monitoring frameworks, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with crypto-related financial crime typologies, regulatory expectations (e.g., VASPs), and emerging risks associated with digital assets
Ability to analyze large volumes of data, summarize key findings, recommend courses of action, and present insights effectively to peers and senior leadership
Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills to identify innovative solutions for detecting and mitigating financial crime risk
Basic knowledge of decision engines and risk-based decision strategy development
Excellent verbal and written communication, with a demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships
Proven track record of strong attention to detail
