• Lead end-to-end engineering delivery and modernization across teams, overseeing design, development, testing, implementation, and production stability for complex mainframe and distributed systems.

• Influence enterprise architecture decisions and establish engineering standards, patterns, and best practices across multiple teams and platforms.

• Define and enforce architecture strategy promoting microservices, event-driven design, API-first principles, CI/CD automation, DevSecOps practices, and observability standards to deliver scalable, resilient, secure, and supportable platforms.

• Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering capabilities and intelligent automation to improve productivity, accelerate modernization, and enhance software quality.

• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and engineering guidance across teams while advancing DevOps, CI/CD automation, observability, and software engineering best practices to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational excellence.

• Define and advance engineering practices across software design, development, testing, compliance validation, deployment, support, and operational excellence to improve quality, reliability, and efficiency.

• Develop and execute modernization strategies that enable incremental transformation of legacy platforms while maintaining operational stability, regulatory compliance, and business continuity.

• Provide technical leadership for business-critical legacy platforms, enterprise and vendor integrations, and production environments, ensuring operational stability, resiliency, observability, and effective lifecycle management throughout modernization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 14+ years of progressive engineering experience and technical leadership across mainframe platforms including COBOL, JCL, DB2, Datacom, CICS, VSAM, and batch ecosystems.

• Deep expertise in modernizing legacy systems through APIs, enterprise integration patterns, event-driven architectures, real-time data exchange, enterprise messaging technologies such as IBM MQ and Kafka, ISO-based financial messaging standards, and incremental domain decomposition strategies while maintaining operational stability and regulatory compliance.

• Proven architect of distributed solutions leveraging Java, Spring Boot, microservices, API-first principles, and event-driven architectures. Strong focus on building resilient, scalable, and loosely coupled systems using domain-driven design, event-driven patterns, real-time streaming, CI/CD automation, observability, reliability engineering, and data-centric architectures supporting large-scale, enterprise-level, high-volume financial transaction processing workloads.

• Proven ability to establish architecture roadmaps and influence technology strategy across multiple teams and platforms.

• Effective communicator capable of translating complex technical concepts, architectural decisions, modernization strategies, and technology risks to engineering teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.

• Extensive financial services and brokerage experience with 8+ years supporting core broker-dealer functions, securities processing platforms, and large-scale transaction processing systems. Strong understanding of business workflows, operational processes, risk controls, and regulatory requirements that underpin critical broker-dealer operations.

• Demonstrated experience applying AI-assisted engineering and intelligent automation to accelerate software delivery, modernization, developer productivity, and operational efficiency. Proven ability to evaluate, adopt, and scale emerging technologies that improve solution quality, engineering effectiveness, and time-to-market.
