As Director, Regional Trading Consultant, you will play a critical role in accelerating growth for our Trader segment across Charles Schwab’s Branch Network. This highly specialized role is focused on driving adoption and engagement with Schwab’s trading platforms and products – including thinkorswim, margin lending, options trading, futures/fx, and education offerings – while helping Branch partners to deepen relationships with self-directed trader clients and prospects.

You will act as a subject matter expert, coach, and consultant, working closely with Regional Market Executives (RMEs), Branch Managers (BMs), and Financial Consultants (FCs) to deliver key trading business metrics such as new-to-firm trader households, Trader segment NNA/NAF, Trader CPS, Trader NSFs, and TSR adoption across your assigned regions.

Your ability to lead through influence, coach on complex scenarios, and deliver impactful education will directly support Charles Schwab’s commitment to delivering on an exceptional experience to Trader clients. This requires deep expertise and background with Schwab’s Trading approach, products, platforms, and policies to effectively coach and support through this role.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a coach and strategic partner to RMEs, BMs, and FCs, offering insight and guidance on self-directed/Trader clients assigned to branch.
  • Develop and support Trader client engagement tactics to drive valuable discovery and solution conversations.
  • Deliver coaching and in-branch education to build capabilities in communicating Schwab’s Trader Value Proposition, supporting baseline Trader acumen, and supporting full awareness of Trader partner ecosystem available to support.
  • Support key trader growth metrics in assigned region(s).
  • Serve as point of contact for Branch regarding complex Trader product, Trader service, or Trader platform needs, partnering with other Trader resources where needed.
  • Drive partnerships between branches, Trader Engagement, and yourself to host self-directed client education and meet/greet events to grow Trader brand across local markets.
  • Develop and deliver Trader educational content.
  • Assess and improve the Trader Client Experience through collaboration with Branch and Trading partners. Support and foster feedback where needed.
  • Stay current on self-directed client behavior/needs, Schwab’s product, service, and platform, and competitor offerings.

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in financial services with a focus on active traders or trader product sales
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience
  • Active and valid FINRA Series 7 & 63 (or 66) required
  • Active and valid FINRA Series 3 & 34 required - will consider COE for highly qualified candidates
  • Experience supporting branch network or working in other related roles coaching clients or internal professionals around trading products or platforms
  • Extensive knowledge of technical and fundamental analysis, sophisticated trading strategies, risk management, active trader products, services, software, and the brokerage industry.
  • Must possess a proven background in education and/or public speaking
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, communication, organizational, decision-making and leadership skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skill
  • Travel required for in-region support (approximately 25-50%)
  • Individuals can be located outside of the respective region

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
