Schwab Asset Management is the asset management arm of Charles Schwab and is committed to helping investors achieve their financial goals through a focused lineup of competitively priced ETFs, mutual funds, and separately managed account strategies. As part of the Schwab Asset Management Innovation and Product Management team, this Director, Product Manager will help shape, launch, and manage alternative investment solutions designed to meet the evolving needs of individual investors and registered investment advisors.
In this individual contributor role, you will bring product management expertise, Alternative Investments knowledge, and strong business judgment to support the lifecycle of a suite of alternative investment funds, including private credit, private equity, and private real estate. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will partner across product, distribution, legal, sales, client service, and other business teams to evaluate market opportunities, support product growth, and ensure strong alignment between business priorities, client needs, regulatory commitments, and competitive trends.
This role is ideal for a product management professional who can combine strategic thinking, sound decision making, and clear communication to solve complex business challenges. You will use research, market insight, and stakeholder partnership to influence product direction, support campaigns and positioning, and create clear, informative content for clients and business partners. Your ability to collaborate across teams, adapt in a fast-moving environment, and translate product expertise into meaningful outcomes will be key to helping Schwab continue delivering innovative investment solutions with integrity and service above all.
What you have
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of product management experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with Alternative Investments, including private credit, private equity, private real estate, or similar investment strategies
- Solid understanding of financial markets and investment products
- Ability to apply Product Management, Product Strategy, and Business Acumen to support product development, product lifecycle management, and business growth
- Strong Data Analysis, Research Analysis, and Problem Solving skills with the ability to evaluate fund, industry, market, and competitive trends
- Strong Written Communication and Oral Communication skills with the ability to create clear, informative content for clients, business partners, and internal stakeholders
- Ability to build effective partnerships and collaborate across legal, product, distribution, sales, client service, and other business teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred qualifications
- CFA strongly preferred
- MBA preferred
- Series 7 license preferred
- Experience with options overlay strategies
- Experience supporting retail and institutional investment products, distribution channels, or client segments
- Strong Regulatory Compliance awareness with the ability to partner with legal and business teams on ongoing regulatory and supervisory commitments
- Strong Competitive Analysis and Market Research skills with the ability to identify trends, evaluate opportunities, and support product positioning
- Strong Stakeholder Management and Collaboration skills with the ability to influence outcomes across cross-functional teams
- High level of Organization, Attention to Detail, and Priority Management in a fast-paced, multiple-deliverable environment
- Passion for investing, following investment trends, and helping deliver solutions that support client outcomes
In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
