The Director, Marketing Management, Brand Strategy & Identity will serve as a senior leader responsible for translating Charles Schwab's brand strategy into a cohesive and differentiated enterprise brand expression. Reporting to the Managing Director, Brand Strategy, Experience & Identity, this role will lead the development, governance, and activation of the firm's brand positioning, messaging architecture, visual identity systems, and brand standards.

This leader will ensure the Schwab brand is consistently expressed across marketing, communications, digital experiences, client interactions, and emerging channels. The role will partner closely with business leaders, creative teams, communications, product organizations, and customer-facing functions to align brand expression with strategic business priorities while preserving a clear and differentiated market position.

The Director will balance strategic stewardship with practical execution, ensuring the firm's brand evolves to meet changing client expectations while maintaining consistency, trust, and recognition across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy Leadership

  • Lead development and evolution of enterprise brand strategy, positioning, and differentiation frameworks.
  • Translate business priorities, market trends, competitive insights, and customer needs into actionable brand strategies.
  • Maintain and evolve Schwab's brand promise, value propositions, and messaging architecture.
  • Partner with senior leaders to ensure business initiatives align with and strengthen the Schwab brand.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance brand relevance, distinction, and long-term brand equity.

Brand Expression & Identity

  • Own the strategic direction and governance of Schwab's visual and verbal identity systems.
  • Lead development of enterprise standards for brand voice, tone, messaging, visual design, and storytelling.
  • Guide the evolution of identity elements including logos, typography, color systems, imagery, design principles, and brand guidelines.
  • Ensure brand expression remains consistent across all audiences, channels, and touchpoints.
  • Establish approval processes, governance models, and adoption frameworks that protect and strengthen the brand.

Enterprise Brand Stewardship

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business, marketing, communications, and creative leaders on brand-related decisions.
  • Evaluate major initiatives and campaigns to ensure alignment with brand strategy and standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive enterprise-wide adoption of brand principles and governance frameworks.
  • Influence strategic decisions through expertise, relationship-building, and thought leadership.

Thought Leadership & Market Insight

  • Monitor market trends, industry shifts, customer expectations, and competitive positioning.
  • Recommend adjustments to brand strategy and expression to maintain relevance and differentiation.
  • Help anticipate how emerging technologies, AI, and changing customer behaviors may impact brand perception and engagement.
  • Champion innovative approaches to brand building while preserving Schwab's trusted reputation.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead and develop a team of brand strategy, brand management, and identity professionals.
  • Foster a culture of strategic thinking, creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build organizational capabilities in brand planning, messaging development, identity management, and governance.
  • Establish clear priorities, operating rhythms, and performance expectations for the team.

Required Experience

  • Significant experience leading brand strategy, brand management, corporate identity, communications strategy, or related marketing disciplines.
  • Deep expertise in brand positioning, competitive differentiation, messaging development, and identity systems.
  • Experience building and governing enterprise brand standards across large, complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated success influencing senior leaders and driving alignment across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Strong understanding of how brand strategy translates into creative execution, communications, and customer engagement.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
