The goal of Operational Services, within Plan Administration & Implementation (PAI), is to meet the needs of Retirement Plan Services by providing the best client service possible as it relates to the recordkeeping aspects of Defined Contribution Retirement Plans. Specifically, a Senior Specialist within PAI is responsible for accurately executing high volume processing of complex disbursements as well as researching historical activity. In addition, we are expected to manage relationships with internal business partners while ensuring absolute compliance with all regulations and requirements of ERISA Law.

The position is for a Senior Specialist in our Operational Services, Specialty group in the Richfield, OH office.  As a Senior Specialist you will support the day to day administration of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, Death/QDRO Splits and Installments.  Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and administration of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDRO)
  • Assist internal partners, participants, alternate payees and client counsel to resolve issues and answer questions
  • Serve as subject matter expert and reviewer for QDRO team members
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations, plan design and calculation methods which governs processes such as Death Splits, QDRO Splits, and Installments
  • Draft procedural and administrative documents related to Qualified Domestic Relations Orders
  • Create participant level communications
  • Complete assigned cases in accordance with service level standards
  • Participate in project work, as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-years’ experience in qualified retirement plan administration
  • Expertise in QDRO rules and requirements of the review and qualification process

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, dependable, efficient and able to work independently
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Aptitude to quickly learn a broad range of skills, processes and subject matter
  • Creative thinking skills and a mindset of continuous improvement in service delivery
  • Maintain a general working knowledge of IRS and ERISA rules applicable to employee retirement plans
  • ASPPA Designations preferred but not required

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
