The ‘Portfolio Lead’ position partners with their Portfolio Manager on key leadership responsibilities.  This is a hybrid role where 50% or more of the role (depending on need) will be Portfolio related and the remainder program/project or RTE related.

What you have


The Portfolio Lead will manage projects or ARTs and directly assist the Portfolio Manager with portfolio management activities, including but not limited to:

  • Content creation and collation for Portfolio-Leadership channels
  • Managing Portfolio Intake / Flow of work through the Portfolio
  • Fielding and managing portfolio requests from Corporate Strategy / Strategic Program Management
  • Ensuring adherence with CPMO policies and standards across projects
  • Serving as the primary backfill for PfM while out of office
  • Helping to lead, level up and coach PMs across the Portfolio (case by case)
  • Develops and maintains portfolio dashboards, raising insights to leadership for prioritization & trade-off decisions

Additional Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Maintains Portfolio kanban board & key metadata (portfolio-level prioritization, capacity, alignment to strategy, benefits, etc.)
  • Provides deep-dive analysis on portfolio data, benefits realization & Initiative performance; Drives process improvements
  • Runs Portfolio Governance operations and collects/builds materials for QPRs
  • Coordinates with RTEs, PMs, and Solution Managers to ensure data quality and dependency/risk tracking

Required Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated outstanding communication and leadership skills up to working with the MD A2 levels
    • Excellence in verbal and written communications, presentations, and discussions – including challenging discussions.
    • Strong relationship management skillsfrom senior leadership to peers.
  • Standard expert/senior Program/Project Managementor RTE work since this person will still be supporting projects or ARTs
  • Experience with analytics, strong with Excel and other reporting tools (e.g., financials, running scenarios with capacity, Tableau, BI Reporting, Power BI, Rally data extracts, etc.)
  • Process design/management (e.g., intake, portfolio-level reporting coordination, etc.)
  • Strong documentation skills (e.g., process documentation for standardization)
  • Rally experience would be helpful to be able to generate leadership-level views and monitor alignment with portfolio standards that are necessary to generate those views
  • Experience mentoring others

Preffered Qualifications: 

  • Extensive Experience working with and within Retirement Plan Services (10+ years)
  • Extensive coordination needed with Outside Portfolios/Tech Domains (4+) in order to deliver features for the home Portfolio
  • Previously worked as Portfolio Lead for 1 year+ within Workplace Services
