The Portfolio Analytics team, which resides within Schwab Asset Management (SAM) Research & Analytics, provides customized reporting, consultations, and analyses using investment-related information to build potential prospect and client portfolios / portfolio sleeves in support of sales activities across multiple distribution channels (e.g., Retail, UHNW, RIAs). This team provides individual strategy and portfolio construction expertise across a range of investment products including proprietary and third-party separately managed accounts (SMAs), exchange-traded funds (ETFs), mutual funds and model portfolios. This is an individual contributor role that supports daily activities by delivering concise and insightful qualitative and quantitative investment analysis; in addition, will participate in strategic growth initiatives that expand our products and services.
What you are good at
- Create customized investment strategy and portfolio analytical reports using third-party software, such as Morningstar Direct
- Deliver consultations internally to sales partners and participate in external consultations with select Institutional clients, based on insights derived from research and expertise in portfolio analytics report construction that span across various investment-related aspects and metrics
- Provide best-in-class service and portfolio construction insight in a fast-paced environment to meet prospect and client needs, with clear communication to internal sales partners across multiple channels (e.g., Retail, UHNW, RIAs)
- Partner with senior team members to increase efficiency of existing process and increase awareness of the team’s capabilities
What you have
- Knowledge of ETFs, mutual funds and separately managed accounts and how they can be used within a prospect or client portfolio
- Understand portfolio construction concepts, asset allocation, and investment metrics
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to effectively provide consultations to internal sales partners and external prospects and clients
- Detail oriented and can deliver timely, accurate work, with ability to complete tasks when presented with incomplete or ambiguous instructions in a fast-moving work environment
- Experience with investment-related research and reporting software (e.g., Morningstar Direct, Aladdin, Bloomberg, etc.)
- Experience with data visualization software (such as Tableau), advanced Excel skills, SQL or other languages is a plus
- 3-5 years Financial Services experience, preferably with investment consultations, investment sales or sales support, and/or investment performance analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or completion or progress toward a professional designation (e.g., CIMA, CAIA, CFA) is a plus
