Schwab’s Workplace Services (WS) team is responsible for serving the client’s needs across our Retirement Plan Services, Stock Plan Services, and Designated Brokerage Services businesses.

About Schwab Personal Choice Investment Services (PCIS): Schwab Personal Choice Investment Services (PCIS) is a leader in retirement and health savings brokerage, delivering self-directed investing solutions through institutional partnerships with third-party administrators (TPAs), independent recordkeepers, trust companies, plan providers, consultants, and employers. PCIS helps expand participant choice and flexibility through offerings such as the Personal Choice Retirement Account (PCRA) and the Health Savings Brokerage Account (HSBA), powered by Schwab’s brokerage capabilities and partner ecosystem.

Position Summary: The Senior Partnerships Manager, PCIS, is a strategic relationship leader responsible for cultivating, expanding, and managing Schwab’s most important institutional partnerships that drive growth and adoption of the PCRA channel. In this role, you’ll develop partnership strategies, lead complex negotiations, and work cross-functionally to deliver exceptional partner experiences and measurable channel outcomes across recordkeepers, TPAs, plan providers, trust companies, and other institutional stakeholders.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and execute partnership strategies targeting institutional distributors (recordkeepers, TPAs, plan providers, trust companies, consultants, and sponsors) to position Schwab’s PCRA as a leading platform for self-directed
    retirement investing.
  • Build and deepen executive relationships with senior decision-makers across partner organizations, serving as a trusted point of contact for strategy, escalation, and long-term growth planning.
  • Drive adoption and expansion of the PCRA channel by enabling partners with tools, education, and a clear operating model (onboarding, configuration, service pathways, and ongoing support).
  • Partner with internal teams across product, operations, service, risk/compliance,legal, and technology to ensure seamless delivery, governance, and continuous improvement of partner experiences.
  • Lead complex deal structuring and negotiations—from early engagement through execution—balancing partner needs, business outcomes, and risk considerations (including contractual, operational, and regulatory requirements).
  • Plan and execute joint go-to-market motions and partner enablement plans (communications, training, and adoption campaigns), aligning on value proposition and growth priorities.
  • Represent Schwab and the PCRA channel at industry events, conferences, and strategic meetings as a partnership and product advocate.
  • Monitor partnership performance, define and track KPIs, and use data and market insights to recommend actions that improve outcomes (adoption, engagement, service experience, and revenue impact).
  • Stay current on retirement plan industry and regulatory trends to inform partnership strategy and help guide partner decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to innovate across partnership structure, integrations, and distribution programs to strengthen Schwab’s competitive position

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Active Series 7 and Series 63 licenses required (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe, if applicable for the role). Series 24 a plus.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of success in partnerships, business development, or institutional distribution within financial services (retirement, self-directed brokerage, recordkeeping/benefits, wealth/fintech, or related).
  • Experience working with institutional partners such as recordkeepers, TPAs, plan providers, trust companies, and/or consultants; ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of brokerage and investing concepts; familiarity with retirement plan ecosystems (recordkeepers, TPAs, plan sponsors, ERISA considerations, and operational/service models) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and lead cross-functionally to deliver outcomes for partners and clients.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills; comfortable translating complex topics into clear recommendations.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity with an entrepreneurial, action-oriented mindset and a strong focus on service
