This role is part of the Mainframe Infrastructure team and supports mainframe infrastructure initiatives, hardware deployments, resiliency improvements, disaster recovery readiness, SAN management, and platform security administration. The candidate will provide technical leadership and help maintain the reliability, resiliency, and security of the mainframe hardware environment, including support for annual audit reviews.

The candidate must have experience with IBM mainframe hardware installation and infrastructure planning, including system placement, power and cabling, network connectivity, IP address assignments, and hardware configuration. This role also supports and administers Mainframe Hardware Management Consoles to ensure a secure, redundant, and reliable HMC environment.

The candidate will provide hardware and software support for Brocade SAN Directors, assist with technical planning for scheduled director replacements, and support SANnav administration, including configuration, validation, failover testing, recovery testing, and post-test process improvements.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience supporting IBM Mainframe hardware installation, configuration, and infrastructure deployment activities.   

Working knowledge and experience of Brocade SAN Directors including port configuration, connectivity validation, troubleshooting, and operational support.  

Experience installing, configuring, and supporting the SANnav Management Portal for mainframe storage infrastructure. 

Experience working with IBM Hardware Support to diagnose and resolve mainframe hardware issues, including the collection and analysis of diagnostic data. 

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document technical procedures and communicate effectively with technical and business partners.  

Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and successfully execute infrastructure installation and implementation activities. 

Demonstrated ability to serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance, and support during mainframe hardware deployment and infrastructure initiatives. 

Preferred Qualifications

​​Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience. 
Experience with mainframe disaster recovery, resiliency testing, and recovery validation exercises. 
Experience supporting audit, compliance, and security review activities within a mainframe environment.​
