This role will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the z/OS and CICS infrastructure while also contributing to modernization initiatives that improve developer productivity and operational efficiency.  Candidate will provide technical support for z/OS software products, including Zowe, z/OSMF, and associated ISV software, and will be responsible for software installation, maintenance, testing coordination, and production deployment activities. 

The candidate will help establish the foundation for automation, improved accessibility to mainframe resources, and enhance developer experiences through technologies utilizing Zowe and VS Code integration. 

The role requires strong technical expertise across z/OS and CICS platforms, the ability to quickly learn emerging technologies, and the capability to build trusted partnerships across teams while supporting strategic modernization efforts that strengthen the stability, reliability, and future readiness of the Mainframe environment.

What you have

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience supporting IBM zOS environment. 
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of the zOS operating system, JES2, and all other components of the zOS mainframe environment.  
• Proven experience in SMPe to maintain, install, and customize the mainframe z/OS operating system. 
• Proven ability to diagnose complex issues and recommend solutions as needed.  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.   Knowledge of Microsoft Office products that include – Word and Excel.  Excellent collaboration skills with internal as well as external team members.  
• Experience using change management process to deploy software changes into Production and following rigorous testing and backout procedures.  
• Must be able to work weeknights and weekends to implement changes. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with mainframe disaster recovery, resiliency testing, and recovery validation exercises.
• Experience supporting audit, compliance, and security review activities within a mainframe environment.​
