Sr Manager, Digital Product Management
Your Opportunity
Schwab remains committed to providing increased visibility to career growth opportunities and job requirements. This posting announcement is part of increased transparency and while all qualified applicants will be reviewed and considered, this organization has a preferred candidate identified for this role.
At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.
We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).
Schwab’s Workplace Services supports retirement, stock plans, and designated brokerage services for corporations and their employees. EquiView is Schwab’s proprietary equity (stock plan) recordkeeping system used by corporate Stock Plan Services (SPS) clients. As EquiView continues to scale, the WS Digital Product Management team is seeking a Sr. Manager, Digital Product Management with experience in equity compensation financial reporting (ASC 718/IFRS 2) to lead delivery of high-impact enhancements for our corporate B2B clients—partnering across Product, Technology, Reporting, Risk/Compliance, and Client Services.
The EquiView Senior Product Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional initiatives that advance Schwab’s enterprise equity compensation platform, with a particular focus on financial reporting capabilities and client outcomes. This role drives major product enhancements, large-scale client initiatives, system/data migrations, and regulatory-driven changes—operating with increasing autonomy, navigating ambiguity, and influencing multiple teams to deliver measurable business value.
The ideal candidate combines strong delivery leadership with hands-on product management experience in financial reporting (e.g., ASC 718/IFRS 2) and the ability to translate accounting and operational needs into scalable platform capabilities. For internal candidates, current experience owning or driving EquiView financial reporting outcomes is a significant advantage (domain knowledge, established partnerships, and understanding of our controls and client commitments). You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, QA, Reporting, Client Services, and Compliance to align priorities, manage risk and dependencies, and ensure high-quality delivery across EquiView initiatives.
What you'll do:
- Leadership & Execution – Lead end-to-end delivery for complex, multi-release initiatives across EquiView, including financial reporting enhancements and regulatory- and business-driven updates. Own plans and outcomes: scope, timeline, dependencies, risk, resourcing, and stakeholder alignment. Drive UAT strategy and execution (planning, coordination, communications, and sign-off) and ensure operational readiness for launch.
- Partner with product owners, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders in an Agile environment to define problems, clarify requirements, and deliver incrementally—balancing near-term commitments with longer-term platform strategy.
- Client & Partner Focus – Partner with business stakeholders to define clear acceptance criteria, refine backlog items, and ensure requirements are testable and executable. Work directly with Engineering and QA to support solution design, clarify functional behavior, and resolve complex platform issues. Collaborate with Reporting, Client Services, Conversion, Product Support, and Operations to support client readiness, training, and post-launch adoption.
- Strategy – Contribute to the product vision and roadmap for EquiView financial reporting and recordkeeping capabilities by combining market/regulatory awareness with internal stakeholder insights. Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce operational risk, and improve scalability for clients and internal teams.
- Outcomes – Define success measures (quality, timeliness, adoption, and risk reduction) and drive delivery from discovery through launch. Ensure solutions are well-documented, supportable, and aligned to client needs and Schwab operational controls.
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required.
- 2+ years’ experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager (or equivalent internal experience leading backlog, roadmap delivery, and cross-functional outcomes)
- Deep understanding of ASC 718 and IFRS 2; familiarity with relevant IRS/SEC requirements (e.g., Section 16) and ESPP concepts is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Entrepreneurial passion, professional persistence, and a perpetually positive attitude
- Exceptional stock plan and product management skills - ability to synthesize data and stakeholder feedback into insights and actions.
- Experience in equity compensation, stock plan administration, equity systems operations, and/or adjacent domains (e.g., financial reporting products, data/controls, operational risk) with demonstrated ability to learn complex plan recordkeeping concepts quickly.
- Experience working with equity plan platforms and/or enterprise financial reporting systems; current EquiView financial reporting product experience is highly valued
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot complex issues across data, process, and technology
- High attention to detail with the ability to drive work from concept through implementation and stabilization
- Demonstrated track record of predictable delivery, proactive risk management, and clear stakeholder communication
- Ability and desire to work in a collaborative team environment effectively and efficiently.
- Experience participating in cross functional projects, with an emphasis on systems, technologies, business process redesign and/or impact to field and customer service.
