The Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) Exam & Audit Management team in Corporate Risk Management oversees financial crimes and conduct risks, and performs activities to report on the health of the Program and to assess related risks to the firm. We have an opening for a Sr. Manager position to be based in Westlake, TX, Omaha, NE and Orlando, FL.
What you’ll do:
The successful candidate will primarily be involved in regulatory examinations/audit liaison activities related to BSA/AML and OFAC/Global Sanctions, Conduct, and Fraud Risk Programs. The Sr. Manager will serve as the central point of contact for regulators, auditors, and internal/external business partners to support FCRM in providing a consistent and holistic approach as it relates to exam/audit management, including issue management.
As a direct report to the Director of the Exam and Audit Management team, the Sr. Manager will:
- Manage the FCRM and cross enterprise financial crimes and conduct-related regulatory examinations and audits.
- Work closely with regulatory examiners, 2LOD Testing teams, Regulatory Liaison Office, Internal Audit and other groups within and outside of FCRM.
- Handle document production for regulatory exams and audits related to BSA/AML and OFAC/Sanctions, Conduct, and Fraud specific reviews, often on an expedited basis.
- Perform qualitative review of information provided in response to regulatory exam and audit requests to ensure it is responsive, transparent, relevant and accurate.
- Draft document responses to examiner / auditor requests for information and facilitate document review with examiners and auditors on the validation of findings.
- Track and report the status of regulatory exams and audits, issues, and corrective actions and aggregate and analyze results
- Help to ensure issues are appropriately escalated and adequate corrective action plans are established and tracked
- Provide guidance, support, and knowledge sharing to help peers navigate complex work and achieve consistent, high-quality outcomes.
- Support and assist with other aspects of the BSA/AML and OFAC/Sanctions, Conduct, and Fraud Risk Programs, including the management of initiatives related to outstanding regulatory exam and audit issues and reporting on behalf of FCRM.
- Remains current on applicable laws and regulations, industry trends, and compliance/regulatory best practices.
- Provide guidance, support, and knowledge sharing to help peers navigate complex work and achieve consistent, high-quality outcomes.
What you have

Required Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of Schwab and FCRM systems, processes, policies, and procedures
- BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
- 7 or more years in the financial services industry (banking and/or securities) with a solid background in BSA/AML and OFAC/Sanctions, Fraud, Regulatory Compliance or Risk Management as well as audit / exam management experience in this area
- Experience in corporate governance and risk management from an enterprise-wide perspective
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of organization
- Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and develop plans on a systemic level, thinking through potential connections and impact across the Schwab ecosystem, and developing roadmaps to achieve long term vision through short term deliverables
- Understanding of the regulatory environment and rules and regulations applicable to a diversified financial services firm, including strong knowledge of financial crimes and conduct-related risk regulations and laws
- Ability to effectively and quickly build relationships and establish trust, respect, competence and confidence
- Experience consulting with all levels of management and working collaboratively with various groups with potentially disparate objectives
- Results-oriented, able to quickly sort through information and develop concise and clear strategies and solutions
- Ability to be flexible, use sound judgment, solve problems, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
- Advanced skill with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics
