Securities Operations is a specialized organization within the broader Schwab Operational Services Enterprise providing services to our clients including physical stock certificate deposits as well as ordering out securities from our firm to a transfer agent.
As a Securities Operations, Manager, you will be responsible for supporting Securities Operation’s Senior and Team Managers and a team of 6 – 12 Specialists and Senior Specialists with a goal of creating excellent client experiences.
What you'll do:
- Helping to foster teamwork in a diverse work environment and be a role model/ mentor in multiple capacities. This may include but is not limited to providing constructive feedback, training, and reviewing errors with team members.
- Support team managers in delivering optimal business results, including coaching employees on the most effective and efficient ways to process client requests
- Support team development by promoting and reinforcing training activities
- Collaborate with the management team, across locations to support change, drive consistency and share information, standard methodologies, and other relevant topics
- Support a team environment that cultivates engagement and a positive culture
- Adapt to the needs of the business by acting as a Subject Matter Authority and flexing assignments when needed
- Build a brand of leadership and influence across business segments and locations
- Problem solving and conducting research/special requests through the use of email, telephone, and internal systems.
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience in Securities Operations, specifically dealing with physical stock certificates and interacting directly with DTCC
- Active FINRA Series 7 & 63, 24 or 9/10
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with or in Advisor Services and Retail organizations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with foreign custodians such as: Citi, TDW, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, and quickly develop a full understanding of our business.
- Positive attitude, team oriented, enthusiastic, professional, forward thinker and strong work ethic.
- Ability to explain complex subjects in simpler terms.
- Advanced technical skills, with the ability to use seven or more different applications efficiently, including Windows, internet research, database systems, and email.
- Advanced level of knowledge regarding regulatory, audit and compliance policies regarding the securities industry is needed.
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
