The Institutional Mutual Fund Trading Team facilitates the execution of mutual fund orders on behalf of more than 7000 Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), Third Party Administrators (TPAs), and the Schwab Managed Accounts platform. The team provides a high level of expertise in multiple areas including mutual fund knowledge, risk mitigation, research capabilities, managing large/complicated trades, cash/money market expertise and the support of multiple trading channels. Additionally, the team works closely with other institutional trading desks as well as Advisor Services Sales & Service, Mutual Fund Custody & Operations, and multiple technology partners to build a superior product offering and provide an outstanding client experience.

Our trading representatives and managers bring experience and skills from diverse backgrounds. While our emphasis is on trading and relationship building, additional responsibilities include expert order handling and risk mitigation, problem resolution, and ownership of an evolving electronic offering which supports efficiencies for our firm and our clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Series 7, 63

  • Previous experience in a trading role.

  • Commitment to serving the needs of independent advisors, employees, and shareholders. 

  • Strong ability to multi-task and easily adapt to change.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.

  • Solid risk awareness and attention to detail.

  • Basic to intermediate understanding of Excel and other data applications.

  • Desire to work in a diverse team environment.

  • Professionalism, personal accountability, and continual self-development.

  • Ability to work full time during hours that may vary Monday thru Friday from 6:30am to 5:00pm MT.
