As part of Schwab Investment Products & Solutions Services (SIPSS), you will join a dynamic group focused on delivering a broad suite of investment products and solutions, helping clients achieve their financial goals. SIPSS brings together expertise in product development, offer management, platform strategy, and delivery—ensuring Schwab’s leadership in wealth and investment management. 

This is Director level role is responsible for the strategy, execution, and on-going modernization of our managed account offer capabilities at Schwab. Specifically, the person in this role will be responsible for ensuring our internal platforms, technology systems, and operational processes are aligned and optimized to provide Schwab clients and advisors with access and on-going support for a variety of proprietary and 3rd party managed account solutions.

You’ll define and deliver against a strategic roadmap defining our target state eco-system, partnering with a variety of internal stakeholders and domain partners to shape our client, advisor, and operational managed account experiences at scale.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

Providing business and technology leadership in these main subject areas:

  • Outreach to, and partnering with, key managed investing stakeholders in areas such as Operations, Trading, IT, and other product management teams to align on high-level business outcomes
  • Strategically defining platform capabilities across numerous internal platforms and applications required to support and grow our managed account offer eco-system effectively
  • Maintain a high-level prioritized backlog of work required to deliver against managed account objectives, while partnering with other product management teams to ensure their backlogs are aligned with our strategic objectives

Project Governance and User Acceptance:

  • Leading project workstreams in support for managed investing initiatives, partnering with Schwab’s project services teams to ensure appropriate accountability and oversight to senior leaders and project sponsors
  • Working with domain partners and dependent stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly defined, well understood and meet the criteria set out by the SIPSS offer teams

Platform Coordination and Support:

  • Work closely with partners in product management, offer, operations, and technology teams to document and maintain clear and repeatable desktop procedures and operational processes for efficiently launching and maintaining managed investing offers at Schwab
  • Ensure the various managed investing platforms meet our enterprise partners’ needs for distributing managed account solutions as their business evolve
  • Coordinate with senior and executive business and technology leadership to identify and prioritize areas for future investment within the managed investing ecosystem

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years’ experience in the asset management industry; with specific background and expertise in building and maintaining managed account solutions on a large-scale custodial platform
  • Deep experience collaborating with technology teams and business partners to define strategic visions and roadmaps for IT and business process solutions
  • Superior communication and relationship management skills to clearly, efficiently, and impactfully work with a wide range of senior and executive leaders
  • A drive to achieve strategic goals with smaller, incremental wins that accrete to transformational change over time
  • A passion for learning and a spirit of continual self-improvement
  • Bachelor’s degree required

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
