The Managed and Advised Account Operations (MAAO) team performs a variety of functions touching both sides of Schwab’s business, Advisor Services and Investor Services. MAAO partners with several internal business partners, all sharing a common goal of serving our clients with the highest level of satisfaction.

As a Schwab MAAO Team Lead, you will be asked to provide leadership and knowledge support to your team. You will be responsible for reinforcing the MAAO vision and strategy to the team. 

Team Lead Responsibilities:

  • Assist manager in day-to-day managerial tasks.
  • Act in the capacity of the manager when the manager is absent with the opportunity to attend business partner meetings as well as MAAO internal leadership meetings/department projects/initiatives.
  • Building partnerships with MAAO Leadership Team as well as MAAO business partners.
  • Work independently to accomplish tasks and interact and work well within a team environment and with cross-site partners to resolve issues.
  • Have a curious and flexible mindset to learn all aspects of MAAO.
  • Handle complex and high-risk issues: be involved in and handle exceptions, escalations, and trade error review/resolution.
  • Anticipate needs of team and taking proactive approach to maintain service levels, identify gaps, and offering solutions to obstacles.
  • Partner with training/consistency committee/MOT to provide creative ideas and solutions that will benefit the business and drive consistency and share information, standard methodologies, and other relevant topics.
  • Enlighten approvals, Planning, attend Week in Review to discuss team’s performance.
  • Leading or planning turbos/team meetings (as needed) & involved in projects to monitor and enhance team morale
  • Support team managers in delivering optimal business results, including coaching employees on effective case and call management.
  • Attend business partner meetings as well as MAAO internal leadership meetings/department projects/initiatives.
  • Support team development through peer coaching of team members to promote excellence in delivering dedicated, purposeful interactions with internal and external clients.
  • Collaborate with the Team Leads across teams and locations to support change, drive consistency, and share information, standard methodologies, and other relevant topics.
  • Support a team environment that cultivates engagement and a positive culture.
  • Demonstrate consistent leadership.
  • Seek out opportunities to build and develop personal leadership skill set and knowledge with self-study/leadership classes.
  • Onboarding of new hires and ongoing support.
  • Involved in maintaining necessary review and adjustments to workflow.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years MAAO processing experience required.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Series 7, 63, 9, 10 preferred.
  • Must possess effective problem resolution and relationship management skills and a strong sense of teamwork.
  • Ability to provide developmental feedback and coaching promoting career development in an encouraging environment.
  • A desire to support team engagement by playing a leadership role in the team’s establishment of a team action plan, and actively participate in successful execution of the plan through the year.
  • Delegation skills and act as a resource within team-environment to create efficiencies.
  • Attributes of an independent self-starter; have a proven ability to deliver excellent client service while anticipating and resolving problems under your own initiative.
  • Initiative to create change through process improvements, training and streamlining functions.
  • Passion for service, professionalism, positivity and strong work ethic with a high level of integrity and teamwork. 
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Articulate communicator with good listening skills. Presents well in person, on the phone, in meetings and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize business needs, manage time effectively, and multitask.
  • Ability to identify potential risk situations and mitigate timely and effectively.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
