The Schwab Enterprise Billing (SEB) team serves as a strategic bridge between business stakeholders and technical partners. We act as problem solvers, leveraging independent research and analysis of business processes and procedures to identify challenges and uncover opportunities. Our role includes defining requirements and providing quantitative insights to efficiently gather critical information from business partners—ensuring the success of billing development initiatives.

As a  Business Systems Analyst in SEB, you will be responsible for various fee calculations, including tiered, flat fee rates for asset based billing, as well as complex min/max setups.  The Business Systems Analyst will also partner with department leadership to develop and strengthen the team’s processes, systems, and critical internal business partners to deliver positive outcomes for the platform and clients that we support. Key areas of focus will include, but are not limited to, the below items:

  • Manage complex fee arrangements with in the billing system
  • Add fee schedules to billing system in a timely and accurate manner
  • Process weekly and daily control reports to ensure accurate billing
  • Review monthly and quarterly invoices for accuracy
  • Work with business partners to understand business needs to analyze problems and identify viable solutions
  • Analyze complex calculations using data and information from internal sources
  • Research and resolve billing issues or escalate when appropriate.
  • Respond to requests from internal groups including finance, audit and business partners.
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly research and obtain critical information that is required for decision-making.
  • Advocate for the efficient flow of information and ensure that related systems deliver intuitive and natural interfaces
  • Uncover, monitor, and actively manage risk.

Required Qualifications:

  • Exquisite attention to detail and experience with rigorous quality control methodologies with a focus on accuracy and an eye for continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to translate and simplify complex industry and technical issues into concepts that are easily digested.
  • Understanding of industry best practices
  • Vendor management experience is a plus
  • Healthy planning and organizational abilities including the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and long-running projects simultaneously, making necessary real-time adjustments.
  • Advanced desktop software knowledge/skills is preferred (Excel, Access,SharePoint).
  • Experience in the financial services or operational industry is preferred
  • A strong knowledge of managed and advised business is preferred.
  • Appropriate use of discretion and judgment balanced with risk management and escalation skills.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
