This Sr Team Manager position involves managing a team that represents Schwab Advisor Services to some of the largest leading RIAs in the industry, and personally being their go-to contact for leadership escalations.
Job Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of 10-15 tenured service professionals who provide relationship-based service to about 20 Premier Wealth advisors.
• Develop direct relationships with peer-level leaders at your assigned advisor firms.
• Provide escalation assistance directly to the leaders at your assigned RIA firms when complex needs arise.
• Have a strong brand with internal business partners, including AS Sales, AS Workflow Solutions, and Operational Services to monitor and resolve the needs, concerns and opportunities for your assigned relationships.
• Manage positive change in digital adoption, NIGO reduction and operational practices for your relationships.. and have a plan for the team to communicate policy changes to them.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of features and benefits of Schwab digital tools, products and services in order to encourage adoption while offering solution-based service.
• Anticipate and take appropriate actions for potential risk issues pertaining to all facets of the operation while presenting and implementing proactive solutions.
• Partner with all departments within Advisor Services to provide creative ideas and solutions that will benefit the business.
What you have
The Ideal Candidate Offers:
- 2+ years of people management experience.
- Demonstrable ability to take ownership of impactful client relationships, provide excellent client service, and resolve problems under your own initiative.
- Existing positive working relationships with internal Schwab departments.
- Communication, presentation, interpersonal and listening skills.
- Passion for service, professionalism, positivity and strong work ethic with a high level of integrity and teamwork.
- In-depth knowledge of RIA industry as well as demonstrated brokerage industry knowledge.
- Excellent relationship management skills including collaborating, influencing and negotiating. Demonstrated ability to problem solve, interact with individuals at various levels, and think on your feet.
- Initiative to create change through process improvements, training and streamlining functions.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize business needs and manage time effectively.
- Ability to identify potential risk situations and mitigate timely and effectively.
- Advanced technical skills with knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Travel for client visits/events required.
- FINRA Series 7, 63, and 9/10 or 24 licenses required.
- Preference for prior management experience in dedicated service relationship model
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
