Banking Operations is responsible for moving assets into, out of, and between Schwab Brokerage, Schwab Bank accounts and Lending lines of business. We provide service to both retail investors and independent advisors. We aspire to create client loyalty by providing quality and timely move money transactions between Schwab and Financial Services firms. Our goal is to be a leader within the industry, while focusing on employee development and collaborating among business partners.

As a Business Analyst Manager in Bank Operations Support Services (BOSS) team, you will be required to act as a liaison between our business partners, cashiering technology, and the Bank Operations platform team to provide production support, ensure that business requirements for new products and enhancements are well-documented and transformed into conceptual technical solutions that support business strategies. In this role, you will need to be flexible and able to prioritize work effectively to meet specific deadlines and manage interruptions without risking the overall success of department goals. Relationship building plays an important role in the position to ensure that projects are completed in the most effective and efficient manner. The Business Analyst Manager may be required to write test scripts, create user stories, and conduct end to end testing. Other responsibilities include, but are not limit to:

  • Investigating and validating reported issues to assess risk and exposure
  • Collaborating with the business and technology on backlog refinement, iteration planning, and release planning
  • Educating business users on new product features and workflow changes
  • Providing project and business analysis expertise and support to the department and assist them in meeting their business objectives; bringing leadership, perspective, consistency of approach, and quality assurance to assigned projects
  • Creating and managing user acceptance testing plans and production checkout of releases

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, project management or financial services software development preferred

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Working knowledge of Banking Operations Infrastructure/Cashiering systems a plus
  • Experience in software development methodology (Agile & RUP); Prior working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence and SQL or any related Scrum tools
  • Strong orientation to clients, including ability to understand needs and apply this knowledge to product enhancements, online user experience, and communication content (internal and external)
  • Proven ability to write business requirements, including user stories, use case development and work flow documentation
  • Ability to document and present procedures for tasks of varying complexity and understand impact of changes on other areas
  • Must be team-oriented, great at problem solving, able to juggle multiple priorities and excel in a dynamic and fast moving environment
  • Passion for learning, driving process simplification, and challenging the status quo
  • Excellent judgment and risk analysis skills are required
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities with the ability to influence and engage others to reach desired future state of the business
  • Represent the leadership team and be the voice of the business on projects, providing deep and timely insight into key issues facing Bank Operations
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent work experience
  • Competence in Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Copilot

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
