We are looking for people with a passion for helping clients become more knowledgeable investors. As a Senior Specialist, you are expected to deliver in-depth and customized consultations for new and existing trading clients. The Senior Specialist will leverage advanced trading knowledge and ThinkorSwim suite features/benefits to develop relationships with segmented or high net worth clients. Senior Specialists also highlight Schwab's broad educational offering and teach clients how to effectively leverage the Schwab trading service model.

Senior Specialists are responsible for managing their day-to-day calendar and working leads generated by business partners and digital campaigns. Leads are primarily generated by inbound associates in the service center and branches. Examples of digital campaigns would be special offers, retention call outs, and helping clients adjust to any changes in our Trader product offering. Campaigns seek to be proactive in engaging the right clients in our 1:1 consultations of our trader offering.

Senior Specialist will work with non-practice book clients (>$1M+ in household assets).

We place a premium on high performance, quality service and the ability to execute the Schwab strategy.

What you are good at:

Productivity for Trading Solutions Referrals

  • Applying advanced knowledge to onboard high value self-directed clients to our trading platforms, products, resources, and tools.
  • Actively managing a weekly schedule within Outlook and TimeTrade
  • Actively engaging in warm TSR transfers and/or outbound dials when capacity allows
  • Achieving quarterly platform and education engagement goals

Quality of client interactions

  • Applying advanced knowledge to onboard self-directed clients to our trading platforms, products, resources, and tools.
  • Developing and maintaining coaching relationships with high value trading clients utilizing a service approach.
  • Deepening knowledge of client’s trading style on a continuing basis to best teach and enhance their understanding of complex option strategies and concepts.
  • Anticipating and working to fulfill client’s ongoing trading needs and proactively maintain knowledge of client issues.
  • Actively influencing retention via the trader value proposition and continued client relationship building.
  • Asking needs-based questions using the sales dialogue model to identify the clients stated or unstated need in a professional manner.
  • Consistently reaching out to clients to clarify understanding of their next steps and relevant additional resources in their trading education after the consultation.

Campaigns & Digital ATR Offering

  • Responsible for proactively driving additional platform and education engagement opportunities through outbound call campaigns and targeted digital marketing
  • Proactively seek opportunities to educate clients on tools that could help their trading strategy or learn more about technology advancements as well as market trends.

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required:

  • Total Experience Required: 1-3 years
  • Education Level Required: Associates Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Education Level Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Series 7 & 63 licenses required
  • Series 3 within 6 months of hire (condition of employment)
  • Strong knowledge of Schwab’s trading education offers, products, and platforms
  • Ability to advise clients on current positions as well as generation of new strategies through education on financial markets and products to familiarize customers with the company polices and trading philosophies
  • Master and teach clients how to use the firm’s most complex trading platforms (including but not limited to: thinkorswim, Thinkorswim Mobile Applications, and TosWeb) to allow clients to harness and maximize Schwab technology to meet their trading needs.
  • Mentor clients around margin rules and calculations on equity and complex option positions and risk management
  • Possess an Advanced level of knowledge of: Equity Trading, Basic Options, Complex Options, Reg T Margin, Day Trading, Greeks, Technical and Fundamental Analysis, Trading Systems

Preferred:

  • Self-motivated with good organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess an understanding of the principles of sales
  • Ability to communicate complex trading strategies in a clear and concise manner to retail clients and business partners that enables clients to make informed trading decisions
  • Experience presenting advanced trading concepts to clients and prospects
  • Proactive team player able to work in a self-disciplined environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and active listening skills

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
