Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.   Trading Services Business Unit Risk team provides the first line of defense risk management and supervision for all areas of its business. This position requires Series 7 & 63 licenses and will mainly focus on performing real-time monitoring and review of all client posts and comments within the chat rooms of the thinkorswim® platform, adhering to both regulatory and Schwab procedural standards. Any combination of Series 3, 34, 24, & 4 licenses are encouraged.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct real-time review and monitoring of all client activity within the chat rooms of the thinkorswim® platform
  • Responsible for maintaining and enforcing appropriate client behavior in the chat rooms including censoring of non-conforming content and reporting all infractions in a timely manner
  • Protect firm interests and client personal information, ensure adherence and enforcement for chat room violations
  • Maintain a detailed log of specific chat room activities, notate client account in the event of a chat room violation
  • Notify chat room team and leadership in the event of unusual posts, violation of terms and policies, or widespread technology/platform issues
  • Partner with Trading Services product teams, Trader Service support teams, and Client Advocacy when handling client facing situations
  • Observe and report early detection of trading platform issues that may affect performance, especially after new releases
  • Assist or direct chat room clients in resolving specific technology related questions
  • Strong understanding of terms applicable to the use of chat rooms and forums
  • Monitor the shared chat room inbox for internal and external communications, ensure high level of service is provided in communications with clients
  • Make recommendations on appropriate follow-up actions, consult with leadership and execute approved remediation strategies
  • Participate in weekly meetings to discuss all chat room matters
  • Act as subject matter expert on risk perspectives of chat room activities.
  • Continuously build and maintain knowledge of firm internal policies, procedures and products.
  • Remain abreast of current and changes to applicable rules and regulations in the securities industry
  • Build and maintain written chat room procedures, training documents and other team resources
  • Assist management with completing weekly, monthly and quarterly quality checks and assist with regular reporting and various projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist with internal and other exams, audits and reviews as needed

What you have

Required:

  • 4 Year College Degree or Equivalent Experience Required
  • 3-5 years industry and trading experience required
  • Ability to function effectively with a remote reporting structure and effective time management
  • Compliance with firm and industry communication standards, internal and external rules, regulations and policies
  • Strong knowledge of the financial services/brokerage industry (including rules and regulations)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the thinkorswim® suite of platforms and tools as well as competitor offerings
  • Strong equities and derivatives trading knowledge, diverse markets, technical analysis
  • Ability to stay current on market conditions and news events impacting client conversations
  • Solid analytical, judgment and decision-making skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication 
  • Advanced attention to detail, high level of quality
  • Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other related computer software
  • Series 7 & 63 licensing required; Any combination of Series 3, 34, 24, & 4 encouraged
  • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed

Preferred:

  • Degree in Finance, Business or Related field Preferred
  • Experience in a compliance or supervisory capacity with a brokerage firm preferred
  • General knowledge of thinkScript preferred

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
