Sr Manager, Trader Engagement (PL)

This is a retail leadership role that combines people leadership & development with trader product, markets & self-directed education knowledge. As a Trading Solutions manager at Charles Schwab, you will lead and coach a team of sales and engagement specialists as you work together to grow and educate the trader client base. You will establish and implement strategies and plans designed to ensure that asset flow and client engagement targets are met. Your management skills and leadership competencies will be used to provide direction and deliver results. We value teamwork, integrity, service, open communication, and perseverance. The Trading Solutions Manager role is a critical link in Schwab’s efforts to successfully grow our trading business. This is a high-level leadership role and has added responsibilities with project work, additional sales supervision requirements, strategic planning for the future state of the business, cross-site peer coaching and driving department-level initiatives. This role will work with the Director on the additional responsibilities to ensure alignment on department vision and consistency in execution. Due to the unique teams this role manages, the Team Manager is fully responsible for onboarding and training their associates, as well as cultivating strong relationships with key business partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1 on 1 coaching and feedback sessions, performance appraisals, and additional training and support based on individual team member’s development needs and goals. This includes coaching to the EDGE/PSS Dialogue Model to ensure a consistent and positive client experience and proactively growing trading knowledge with new hires and tenured associates.
  • Understanding of the referral process and associate expectations to ensure proper supervision of sales activities while effectively communicating the Corporate vision and initiatives with your team, broader peer group and key business partners.
  • Effectively leading a tenured, experienced group of associates in a way that fosters a positive, energizing, and professional team culture with the ability to motivate and inspire team members, both on an individual and team level, with regards to achievement of corporate, business unit and personal goals to maximize each representative’s potential.
  • The ability to facilitate team meetings and discussions, gather associate feedback and address questions, concerns, and issues in a professional manner 
  • Drive department-level engagement and work cross-site with associates on all teams within the department and maintain a cohesive leadership team with the cross-site peer group.
  • Ability to make autonomous sound business decisions and enforce company policies in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.

To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Current and active Series 7, 24 or 9/10, and 63 licenses are required
  • Series 3 (Futures) is a 90-day condition of employment
  • Minimum of 8-10 years in the financial services industry
  • A minimum of 3 -4 years of management/sales management experience
  • Knowledge of Thinksorswim, the markets, our education offering, complex trading products & strategies as well as our self-directed product offering (derivatives, margin, Portfolio Margin, commission/rate negotiations, day trading, technical & fundamental analysis, hard to borrow program, etc.).
  • The ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions while being able to recognize new opportunities for improvement and adjust quickly and efficiently to changes in a fast paced, demanding environment.
  • Willingness to understand and support changes within the organization and the ability to lead associates through frequent change and uncertainty in a positive manner
  • A desire to lead, a passion for sales leadership, and a deep commitment to client service are required. 

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
