This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the agile practice at Schwab Asset Management, building scalable, cloud-enabled platforms that directly power trade analytics and execution. You’ll work with leaders in modern architecture across on-premises and cloud environments, driving the evolution of a next-generation trading platform across AI-enabled digital advice and discretionary order management. The position combines strong Agile adoption with close collaboration with motivated business partners, provising a great platform for coordination across multiple Scrum teams. It’s an ideal role for someone who wants to implement Agile at Scale, Release Train Engineering, and deliver meaningful results in a high-impact, client-focused environment.
In this role you will:
- Define and execute Agile delivery strategy and roadmap by establishing the vision, operating model, governance standards, delivery methodologies, roles, and release processes that align program execution with organizational objectives and business outcomes.
- Lead cross-team planning, coordination, and value delivery by facilitating PI Planning, ART events, dependency management, and execution tracking to ensure multiple teams remain aligned, deliver predictable outcomes, and continuously improve delivery effectiveness.
- Manage program health, risks, and operational performance by identifying and mitigating delivery risks, removing organizational impediments, establishing success metrics, monitoring ART performance, and overseeing program operations and resource utilization.
- Influence, coach, and align stakeholders across the organization by building partnerships with business and technology leaders, driving consensus on priorities and implementation approaches, mentoring Scrum Masters and teams, and advancing Agile transformation through servant leadership and continuous improvement.
What you have
To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required:
- Deep Agile and Scrum expertise with demonstrated experience leading Scrum teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, coaching teams, and applying Agile principles to improve delivery outcomes. Experience with scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe or equivalent) is strongly preferred
- Program and delivery leadership experience managing complex initiatives involving multiple teams, coordinating dependencies, mitigating risks, driving execution, and delivering against strategic objectives.
- Strong coaching and servant leadership skills with the ability to mentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and delivery teams while fostering team autonomy, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with experience building alignment among technology, business, product, and executive stakeholders, influencing outcomes without direct authority, and facilitating difficult conversations
Risk, dependency, and change management expertise including identifying delivery risks, developing mitigation plans, removing organizational impediments, and leading teams through organizational and process changes. - Data-driven decision-making capabilities with experience using delivery metrics, team health indicators, PI objectives, Kanban flow metrics, and reporting dashboards to improve predictability and outcomes.
