As a Specialist in Cost Basis Operations you will be part of a team that oversees the reconciliation and maintenance of several of our cost basis processes.  This is a fast-paced working environment where effective communication and teamwork are a must. Flexibility and adaptability are necessary, because the specialist will rotate through different functions as business needs arise.

Duties for this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Research across multiple systems to verify transaction information
  • Research and processing cost basis adjustments for Retail and Advisor Services clients
  • Process corrections in GainsKeeper, Schwab’s cost basis system
  • Analyze large data sets and determine the cause of issues and the impacts either upstream or downstream.

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in Operations
  • Proven tax and cost basis experience and knowledge framework

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Intermediate computer skills including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • An understanding of Macro based tools and an ability to trouble shoot issues with them
  • A good foundation and understanding of financial markets and how individuals interact with them
  • This role requires strict adherence to the established policies and procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while maintaining the highest level of positivity and professionalism
  • Good decision making and sound judgment skills are a must
  • Attention to detail is key in being successful in this position
  • Requires accurate data entry skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Identify and communicate issues effectively and timely to peers and management team
  • Ability to multi-task, understand the importance of follow-through
  • Outstanding time management and organization skills
  • BA or BS preferred
  • Series 7/63 preferred

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
