Operational Services Control strives to be a liaison to our Operational Services and Client Business Partners. Our mission is to protect the client, firm assets and information by partnering with businesses and technology. As a business liaison we offer a variety enterprise-wide functional control services that will assist our partners in balancing efficiency, cost, and risk while ensuring regulatory and corporate policy compliance. Primary responsibilities of our organization include: Access and Entitlements, Asset Reconciliation, Customer Protection, Customer and Account Data Control, Record Retention, Supervisory and QA support, Regulatory and Audit filing support.
The Segregation Team is responsible for monitoring the work being processes by the Operational Groups to ensure compliance with SEC Rule 15c3-3, Customer Protection Rules-Reserves and Custody of Securities. The team works closely with the regulatory agencies and internal/external auditors on their continuous review of segregation.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with SEG team members to complete daily, monthly and quarterly reviews
- Works closely with the Operations Groups to review potential SEG issues
- Participate and lead discussions with business partners on potential procedural / system changes in order to help mitigate issues identified during reviews
- Become a subject matter resource for our technology groups on system enhancements
- Frequent system testing on our applications and reports
- Help in the creation of business requirements and test cases
- Document and maintain procedures
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 + years of brokerage operations with an emphasis on Broker Dealer Stock Record
- Settlement Operations and or Securities Lending experience a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of 15c3-3 and 204 a plus
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all levels and with regulators/auditors
- Strong influencing skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail is a must
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests and initiatives in order to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Schwab systems and procedures a plus
- Series 7 and 63 a plus
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
